🕵️‍♀️🎲🧩 Exploring the Past through Play! 🕵️‍♂️🪀🃏

Today was an exciting day at Life In Bone as I got to test out my new material with Sandown Primary School Year 1 children on the "Archaeology of Toys and Games"! 🏫📚

Our young archaeologists embarked on a thrilling journey back in time to uncover the secrets of the games and toys that children enjoyed in the past. 🕰️🔎

From a carved bone spinning disc to stone tools, to ancient board games like Senet to an old Paddle doll, these little explorers had the chance to touch, feel, and learn about artefacts from the past, all while having tons of fun! 🎁

It's amazing how toys and games have evolved over time, and today's workshop provided a fantastic opportunity for our Year 1 students to connect with history in a hands-on way. 🧭🕰️

I hope today's session sparked our young learners and curiosity about history ready for the next workshop on Ancient Greece and Romans in a few weeks! 🙌👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Yesterday was my last session with Year 1 at Sandown School, Deal Kent 🥺. They completed their 4th session working on fossils and should have their Certificate of Achievement📜 .

They did amazing stuff. Learned a lot. Was challenged🧠, held real fossils 🦖and bones🦴 and played some fun learning activities. I hope they have enjoyed it.

I hope to see some of you during the new online workshops starting soon. My website is currently getting a revamp 🪄.

Had a wonderful time with Year 1 at Sandown School, Deal Kent today teaching them about Mary Anning🐚.

Spent the afternoon making some faux fossils for them to handle for their next challenge🕵🏼‍♀️🕵‍♂️
