A great opportunity for young people in Blackburn!

🐾 Paws what you're doing… we’ve got some exciting news for anyone interested in a career working with animals! 🎓

We've proudly supported Blackburn College in expanding its specialist animal education offer to Witton Park - bringing the courses back to our borough!

Our teams have been working hard over the summer to transform the former Visitor Centre – once the stables and coach houses for Witton House – ready for students to start at the site this September 🐴🐑🦙

Fascinatingly, the first cohort got hands-on experience with everything from snakes, sheep and Shetland ponies to rabbits, goats, and alpacas! 🐍🐐

The new facilities mean students can study Animal Care and Animal Management from Level 1 through to Level 3 – which could lead into careers including veterinary work, zoology, dog grooming, mobile farms, working with charities and more...!

If you're interested or know someone who is, be quick - there’s already huge demand for places.

This is another fantastic example of our teams working with Blackburn College to create more opportunities for local young people and develop the skills needed for the future - giving youngsters the very best start in life.

And it’s been a great week for Blackburn College too, with a 98% success rate in T Levels and 96.5% in Level 3 vocational courses 👏

How are we at the end of the year already?!

Year 6 parents - take some time to reminisce with your child this week. There’ll be lots of big feelings for both students and parents.

Good luck to everyone getting their SATs results this week too, we know it’s been so hard waiting all this time.

I feel honoured and proud to have been part of The Festival School at Bearded Theory again this year.

We work together to create something fleeting and special in a place that is itself magical and transient. It’s exhausting, but we’re already plotting for next year!

If you’ve contacted me over the past fortnight and haven’t had a reply, please do nudge me. It’s been somewhat chaotic in Progress Towers!
