With dry weather this weekend and a pretty simple set up your little ones will love, save this one for later.
Steps
- I added our My Play tray to the large tuff tray and filled it with sand.
- covered the base with water & added blue mica powder to give it a water effect.
- I used separate glass jars I found from a local charity shop for the potion play.
- fizzing mixture is just bicarbonate soda with some glitter & more mica mixed in, they were “volcanoes”
- Jar filled with some white vinegar and I added some water pipets, this makes them fizz.
- I popped some dinosoars in a balloon and added water, froze them over night to create a “hatch my dino” egg (option to add food colouring here)
- A couple of Dino figures and some leaves off a tree in the garden.
There you have it, easy set up & hours of fun!

A few weeks ago, Tray and Play supplied 48 sensory jars for a large messy play event.
As a small business owner and mum, every jar is mixed, filled, labelled and packed by hand. The product names, themes and sensory mixes are all things I’ve spent months developing around family life and nap times.
I was disappointed to later see the jars re-labelled and presented publicly as “Our very own Messy Play Jars” without any mention of Tray and Play as the creator and supplier.
This isn’t about money. It’s about recognition.
Small businesses don’t have huge teams, investors or marketing budgets. We have late nights, kitchen tables and a lot of hard work.
Please remember that behind every handmade product is a real person who created it.

Less than £5 spent, over 2 hours of fun!!
You just need 5 things…
1. Shaving Foam
2. Food colouring
3. A sliced pool noodle (I got ours for less than £3 from smyths)
4. Some sprinkles for decorations
5. Outside space
They absolutely LOVED it, I wish I could say it was my idea, it wasn’t so if it was then your amazing because I’ll deffo do this again.

Had a “week off” from all things insta & flew away to Turkey!
When did a holiday with 2 children leave me feeling like I needed another holiday because I ended up more tired after I went than before 😂😂
All the same, I’d take a strawberry daiquiri any day of the week 🍹
Oh and it rained when it was 30+ degrees here so that’s nice 😂😂
