It has been lovely to welcome new and existing children into nursery over the last couple of weeks.
The children have all been amazing and have settled really well despite some initial short lived tears.
It has been great getting to know each one, building relationships with them and find out their interests and motivators.
We have all had great fun exploring a range of activities both inside and outside in the gardens.
Existing friendships are continuing to develop alongside new ones being made.
We are so excited to see where this next year takes us and what adventures we go on.

We canโ€™t believe that another academic year is coming to an end - they seem to go faster and faster!

It is always a difficult time as we have to say goodbye to the children who are leaving us to embark on the next step of their educational journey. We wish them all the best and know they will fully embrace it and continue to fly high.

We all love our jobs and are honoured that we get to play such an important part in the lives and education of young children.

We would like to give a special thank you to all the parents who have worked with us and supported us over the last year, we could not do it without you.

We are sorry about the frequent stained, dirty, food covered and wet clothes that have come home, but would like you to know that each mark or scuff has represented a learning experience, a memory made, a friendship developed and a moment of happiness.

Thank you very much for all the thoughtful cards and gifts we have received.

Wishing you all a summer full of fun and making memories. โ˜€๏ธ

We all had a fantastic water week last week.
Some of the children loved playing in the paddling pools and splashing one another while some children preferred slightly less wet activities.
In addition to the paddling pools and water slides, the children used water and cloths to wash the big and little vehicles, explored different coloured water, investigated floating and sinking, held boat races, practised filling, emptying and pouring but most of all they all had fun, deepened their friendships with their peers through mutual interests and made some fantastic memories.

This week we are having a water week in nursery to coincide with the forecasted hot weather.
During the week we will exploring a range of water themed activities, having fun and making memories.
Please can all children bring a water/sunsuit/costume, water shoes/crocs, a towel and spare clothes.
Let the fun begin ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿšฟ๐Ÿณ

With the weather looking very warm for the coming week, please can we ask that all children come to nursery with sunscreen applied and a named bottle handed to staff so it can be reapplied during the day.
All children must also bring a sunhat and suitable spare clothes.
Many thanks for your continued support.

Over the last few weeks our Caterpillar children have continued to explore The Secret Garden. The children have loved painting around one of the big trees using sticks, leaves, hands and brushes to create a range of marks and investigating colour mixing.
In addition to painting in the garden the children loved printing and creating some colourful symmetrical butterflies.
Our focus story has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have explored different fruits and foods from the story and practised our counting skills, watched and made observations about our caterpillars turning into butterflies before we released them in our allotment area, retold the story using a story sack and hunted for mini beasts outside.
The children have also been transferring their play and skills from the indoor kitchen to the outdoor mud kitchen using some fantastic vocabulary and demonstrating their friendships.
