A huge well done to Class 4 for their fantastic and informative assembly for parents and carers this morning, sharing everything they have been learning about Fairtrade.

Their learning was brought to life with a visit to the Co-op, where they bought the ingredients they needed to make their very own Fairtrade brownies. And, of course, it would have been rude not to share them during the assembly! 😋

A brilliant way to combine learning, real-life experiences and chocolate — and I can confirm the brownies were delicious! 🍫👏

Our Harvest Festival will be on Wednesday 30th September in school.
The new ‘Think Global Act Local Group’ which is made up of children from Years 4 to 6 will help plan our Harvest celebration. We will be thinking about our Christian value of thankfulness, looking out at the world to understand how we can make a difference.
We would love to give as much as possible to the food bank at St Mary’s Church, to give food for people in need in our area. We would like to start collecting from Monday 28th September. The ‘Think Global Act Local’ group will be coming round the classes to collect donations each morning. If you feel able, please could you send in these items to donate to people in need. We will be accepting donations up to and including Monday 5th October to deliver to the foodbank later that week.
Each class has been given a different item to help, though any non-perishable foods are welcome.
Nursery - Biscuits
Reception – Tinned fruit or puddings
Class 1 – Tinned vegetables or baked beans
Class 2 – Tinned soup
Class 3 – Tinned fish or meat
Class 4 – Pasta, rice or noodles
Class 5 – Dog or cat food
Class 6 – Cereal

Year 4 enjoyed a visit to our local Co-op today as part of their learning about Fairtrade. They explored the different Fairtrade products on sale and found out more about how the choices we make can help farmers and workers around the world. 🌱💚

Lots of great learning ready to share at their assembly for parents and carers next week! 👏

Please note that, following the Trust's consultation, there is a two week holiday in the October half term in 2027.
