Hopscotch Preschool/Playschool - Castle Donington

We are OFSTED registered and offer places to 2-4 plus year olds. We accept OFSTED funding which is available to all children from the term after their 3rd birthday. Funding is also available for some 2 years olds! Our aim is to provide a safe, warm and caring environment in which your child can develop at their own unique pace. We recognise individuality and encourage all children to reach their f

ull potential whatever stage of development they are at. Our Objectives:

To provide a good quality education for the children. To provide affordable sessional childcare. To provide a stimulating and encouraging environment. To include parents/carers whenever possible in all aspects of playschool life
To have trained and enthusiastic staff. To offer children the chance to mix and play with other children
To support each child to forfill their individual potential. To follow the overarching aims of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to help children achieve the five Every Child Matters Outcomes. Fees:

Children before their 3rd birthday £12.50 per 3 hour session. Children after their 3rd birthday £12.50* per 3 hour session.

We offer the following session times:

Monday 9.00am - 12 noon
Monday 9.00am - 3pm
Monday 12 noon - 3pm

Wednesday 9.00am - 12.00 pm

Wednesday afternoon Stay and play - first session free 12.45 - 2.45 - come and meet other parents and carers while your child plays

Thursday 9.00am - 12.00 pm

Friday 9.00am - 12 noon
Friday 9.00am - 3pm
Friday 12 noon - 3pm

Lunch club is available daily 12.00 to 12.30 at a cost of £2.20

Week 2 starts the 8th June, our themes are:
Theme Phonic Y, Plants and animals.
Snack Crispbread crackers, spread and cream cheese.
Parental involvement - To talk to your child’s keyperson about a recent achievement of your child. This could be anything from first dry night to counting to 10.

Week 6 starts 18.05.26,out themes are: Theme Phonic W and wellbeing
Snack Children’s choice- a notice will be on the outer door of the chosen snack the week before.
Parental involvement – to encourage your child to express different emotions, here are a few ideas….
• Mime an emotion and see if they can guess what it is. ...
• Get your children pulling faces to match the feeling you call out.
• Sing ‘If You’re Happy and You Know it,’ but change the emotion for each verse. ...

Snack Vegetable platter.
Parental involvement – To encourage your child to spell out their name using the phonics

We hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend. Week 4 starts Tuesday 5th May our themes are:

Theme Phonic U and physical activity.
Snack wrap with cream cheese and cucumber.
Parental involvement - To encourage your child to walk to Hopscotch. If you live further away or need to drop off other children park further down the road and walk the last part.

We hope you had a lovey Easter break and enjoyed the sunshine. Hopscotch re-opens on Monday 13th April our themes are:
Theme Phonic R and food and health.
Snack Rice cakes, bananas and grapes.
Parental involvement – to add a recent achievement of your child on a post it note to the achievement box. This could be anything from first dry night to counting to ten.

Parental involvement: To encourage your child to look for circles and ovals in the world around them.

Our snack is: Noodles, sweetcorn and peas
Parental involvement: To encourage your child to sound out their name using the phonics.

We hope you had a lovely half term, despite all the rain! Hopscotch re-opens on Monday 23rd February. Our themes are:
Theme: Phonic M and Shape.
Snack: Melon, mango and mandarin.
Parental involvement: To encourage your child to look at the shapes they see in the world around them.
