Dagenham Park was presented with another amazing opportunity to attend a Futures Festival at none other than Pinewood Film Studios today! Year 9-13 pupils were given a tour of the studio, visiting different soundstages with a huge range of different careers in the industry, not to mention seeing a stunt performance and numerous characters from some of the biggest franchises in cinema. What a great day! A huge shoutout to for organising the trip. We enjoyed it immensely 🎥

As many of you may remember, last year three Year 8 pupils won the Film Enterprise Borough competition hosted by Film LBBD. As a result, they had their pitch idea made into a professional short film. Move forward a year and Dagenham Park only went and won the competition yet again!! This time it was 5 Year 8 pupils who pitched a brilliant idea on metamorphosis to Miss Olowogboye, Ms Lewis and Mr Elliott - the film is horror inspired and called Inter Demon. Like last year, a professional film crew came into school and spent 3 days making the Year 8 pupils’ vision become a reality. It was edited and then premiered at VUE Romford on Wednesday July 16th. A special thanks to the 5 Year 8 pupils who won the competition, Miss Olowogboye, Anna from Film LBBD and Martin from the Borough. The film is great and a link to watch the film is here: https://youtu.be/5lnE_Sixc64
Do we dare win the competition next year for a 3rd year running?

Students from Dagenham Park represented the school in the London Panathlon games after qualifying from the Borough games. We manage to win and in doing so we picked up gold medals, a plaque, a trophy and a certificate each. Winning is an unbelievable achievement and the guys have worked extremely hard just to take part in such prestigious event. To be the best in London is phenomenal and who knows I’d love an invitation to A National games event if they did one!
The hardest part is selecting which 8 to choose from, so I picked it on who had attended the most. I could have picked 30 students to come who attend Panathlon club but obviously that is too many, so winning this isn’t just for the 8 students who went to the games its for the whole squad who come to Panathlon.
We have now picked up several trophies over the years of doing Panathlon and this one has to be the biggest and best as more schools were involved.
The students did a range of sports including; Basketball, Tennis, Kurling, Ten Pin Topple, Boccia, Darts, Standing Long Jump, Speed Bounce and Cricket. They loved every second of it and massive thanks to the organisers for creating this day and all the staff and students who helped throughout the day to make the competition run smoothy. Without them I know this couldn’t go ahead, so thanks very much.
Lastly, to the students, their teamwork, commitment and dedication throughout Panathlon over the years has been superb and that’s the reason we have won. Their desire to keep improving and learn new sports has been commendable and just hope it continues for years to come.
Well done Dagenham Park!!!!
Proud of you all!!!!

Today was a special Sports Day for Dagenham Park as we warmly welcomed British sprinter and athlete . Jake represented GB at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships and won the Bronze medal in the 200m. Jake was a spectator at our Sports Day, and because he is sponsored by , he kindly brought with him a charity donation package of New Balance clothes and trainers to give something back to the community. This merch was proudly given to our Sports Leaders, who helped with the smooth and successful running of the day. They’re very proud of their gear! Thanks again and we hope to you see soon 🙌👟🏅

Another brilliant event happened recently - Year 12 Insight into Careers with KPMG at Canary Wharf. We have some budding apprentices looking to work in the finance sector. We have every faith they will achieve those aspirations. Keep smashing it and don’t go home until you’re proud! 🙌🏦
