A different kind of day at the office! 🌿

We recently welcomed a team from Johnson & Johnson to Wildside for a day away from their usual working environment.

After a morning of meetings in the barn, it was out into the sunshine for archery, followed by fire lighting in the woods and marshmallows around the campfire.

With a homemade lunch in between, it was a great mix of work, fresh air and time spent together outdoors.

We really enjoy hosting days like these and seeing people make the most of everything Wildside has to offer.

A big thank you to the team from Johnson & Johnson for spending the day with us!

Music, workshops and a little bit of Wildside adventure 🎻🌳

We recently welcomed Taunton Suzuki Group, part of the British Suzuki Music Association to Wildside, for a day of music, workshops and time outdoors. Wildside was alive with music, it was magical ✨🎶

Throughout the day, children and parents took part in piano and violin workshops, choir, improvisation and storytelling, as well as a talk for parents. Of course there was also time to head into the woods and have a go on the zip wire!

The different improvisation sessions eventually all came together in a final musical story involving the whole group.

After a busy day, pizzas from the wood-fired oven were enjoyed by all and followed by a Ceilidh to round off proceedings🎶🍕

It was lovely to see the barn, woods and other spaces around Wildside being used in so many different ways throughout the day.

October Half Term at Wildside 🎃🌳

A few spaces left on our October half term Activity Camps!

📅 Wednesday 28th & Thursday 29th October
⏰ 8.30am–4.30pm
🌳 Ages 5–10
£45 per child, per day
£40 per day when booking both days or multiple children

We have lots planned, including pumpkin activities, Halloween nature crafts, fire lighting, the zip wire, animal time, a Halloween bug hunt and plenty more outdoor adventures.

A full day outside exploring, learning new skills, getting muddy and having fun with friends.

Limited spaces available so please do get in touch to book a place.

Meet some of the Wildside residents 🐔🐑🐴

Animals are a big part of life at Wildside and are always a popular part of a day visit or residential!

From collecting eggs and feeding the chickens to checking on the sheep and spending time with the ponies, there is always an animal somewhere nearby wanting to see what’s going on.

The animals give children the chance to get hands-on, ask questions and learn a little more about caring for animals and life in the countryside, experiences they might not always have access to at home.

BUT animals can be unpredictable and sometimes they are more interested in getting to know you... 🐔

School trips are a little different at Wildside 🌳

Days are spent outdoors, exploring the woods, learning new skills, working together, getting muddy and having plenty of fun along the way.

From woodland activities and team challenges to fire lighting, nature activities, the zip wire and time around the animals, every visit gives children the chance to learn, explore and experience something different.

For our residential groups, the adventure continues into the evening, with campfires, evening activities and sleeping under canvas at basecamp!

Schools can join us for a day trip or a residential stay, and we can tailor each programme to the age and needs of each group.

We’re now taking school enquiries for 2027.

A little introduction from us...

In April we took over Wildside from Alison and Richard and began a new chapter for both Wildside and our family.

We're Harry and Caitlin, and with our three children we've very much thrown ourselves into life here!

Our first summer has been a busy one. Welcoming schools, running our first holiday camps, looking after the animals, getting to know Wildside properly and more recently, hosting our first Wildside Table evening.

We feel incredibly lucky to have taken on such a special place. Alison and Richard created Wildside nearly 20 years ago, and there's so much of what they built that we want to continue, particularly giving children the chance to spend time outdoors, try new things, learn and have adventures.

We are also very excited to slowly put our own stamp on things, with more holiday camps, events, food and other reasons for people to come and enjoy Wildside.
It's certainly been a busy first few months, but we wouldn't want it any other way! We can't wait to start sharing more of what goes on here as we head into autumn.

Autumn is starting to arrive at Wildside 🍂🍁

The evenings are drawing in, the woods are beginning to change and we are heading in to one of our favourite times of year to be outdoors.

There’s plenty happening here over the next few weeks with school visits, outdoor adventures, animals to look after and the October half term camps to look forward to.

We’ll be sharing a little more of life at Wildside along the way.

✨ The Wildside Table ✨

On Friday we welcomed our very first guests to The Wildside Table for an evening of great food, drink and company.

Our guest chef Michael Notman-Watt created a fantastic three-course supper, the barn felt very much like the place we imagined it could be.

This was our first dining event at Wildside and we’re delighted with how it turned out and for the wonderful feedback we have received ❤️
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special.

We will definitely do more, watch this space…
