📖 World Book Day! 📚

We had such a fun day dressing up, reading our favourite stories, dancing, singing and playing lots of games together. The children decorated beautiful fish inspired by The Rainbow Fish, acted out Handa’s Surprise, and enjoyed lots of imaginative role play in our decorated book shop.

We also headed out into the garden to collect different sized sticks and worked together to create our very own Stick Man! 🌿
It was a day full of creativity, storytelling and teamwork, supporting all areas of the children’s development while celebrating our love of books. 💛

Last week we stepped back in time and explored DINOSAURS through lots of fun & educational activities:

• 🦖 Dinosaur tuff tray – investigating fossils, footprints and small-world play while building language and imaginative skills.
• 🎨 Paper-plate dinosaurs – cutting, painting and creating colourful dinos to develop creativity and fine motor skills.
• 🌿 Dinosaur swamp sensory tray – exploring textures, messy play and imaginative storytelling in our swamp world.
• 🎨🦕 Dinosaur paint printing – using toy dinosaurs to create footprints and patterns, discovering shapes and cause-and-effect.
• 🥚 Dinosaur eggs – cracking open eggs to discover surprises inside, encouraging curiosity, problem-solving and early science skills.

This week we explored The Very Hungry Caterpillar through lots of fun & educational activities:

• 🐛 Sensory Hungry Caterpillar tuff tray – recalling foods and building early language skills.
• 🎨 Decorating caterpillars – exploring colours, textures and creativity.
• 🧵 Threading caterpillars – developing fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination.
• 🍝 Painting green pasta – supporting creativity, counting and simple patterns.
• 🦋 Learning the life cycle – understanding how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly.
• 🎨🦋 Sponge print butterflies – creating our own butterflies, exploring symmetry and colour mixing.

🍁 Autumn sensory fun! 🍂 Today we explored the garden to find sticks of all different sizes, then used them to draw and create patterns in our sensory tray. This sparked conversations about size and shape while supporting fine motor skills, creativity, and exploration! 🌿 & we got messy at the end - that was our favourite bit! 💕
