Risk assessments completed, Little Listeners was back at Christ the King in Coventry today and it was AMAZING! Reception and Year 1 children were utter superstars and we all had lots of fun listening to 'Mrs Mole, I'm Home!' and 'Edgar and the Sausage Inspector'. Can't wait to see them next week....

Just as I had posted about Oi Frog! and Rhyme Crime, I came across a brilliant new book, by Jon Burgerman. I imagine this picture book being incredibly helpful for families, nurseries and schools for some time to come.

I defy anyone to read this book, or indeed listen to it and not laugh! The characters of Frog, Cat and Dog are just brilliant - their dialogue and expressions in the illustrations are a joy. Rhyming has never been more fun.
If you like this one, try all the others in the hilarious series and also look out for Rhyme Crime by Jon Burgerman.

This is an important week. Now more than ever, Children's Mental Health Week is relevant, needed and should be acknowledged. The ongoing consequences of this pandemic will be far-reaching and potentially long-lasting. The focus this year is Express Yourself - do whatever it is that you need to do to express yourself and feel better. For many people, that means reading.
This week, Little Listeners will be showcasing some of our books that have made us feel better, have made us giggle, have made us gasp and have felt like a lovely cosy hug.

It's Winnie the Pooh Day!
To mark it, I thought I'd post this lovely picture - it captures friendship and for me, it also captures Springtime. Whilst not wanting to wish the time away, I am sure we're all longing for healthier times where we can spend time together safely outdoors with a bit of warm sunshine on our faces. This also reminds me of playing Pooh sticks when my children were little in St Nicholas Park in Warwick - local people will know exactly where!
So today, let's especially remember Kindness and Friendship...
