Turn towards challenge with curiosity.

Difference can stir — uncertainty, defensiveness, the wish to withdraw, or a grasp towards certainty, rigidity, collapse or adaption. Its happening in our world now.

Within psychotherapy training, these moments can become thresholds for deeper learning.

At TAC, Adult–Adult learning means meeting one another with honesty, dignity and shared responsibility. Culture, identity, power and intersectionality are part of the relational field in the room.

Curiosity helps us pause and wonder:

What is being touched within me? What might another person be experiencing? What is asking to be understood between us?

Curiosity does not remove discomfort. It can help us remain present enough to listen, reflect, repair and grow.

Applications for the next training intake open on 1 November 2026.

The group becomes the workshop.

A training group is more than a collection of people learning together. Over time, it becomes a living field of relationship — a place where patterns emerge and the challenge of difference may be met full on.

Within a small, held community, trainees learn through relationship itself. We learn how to belong not through platitudes, but through challenge and genuine care. Sometimes we have to tolerate what feels threatening to our Child parts, or uncomfortable for our Parent parts. This is an essential process for the restructuring of the ego to allow for our core self or psyche to unfold.

This calls for courage and care: to remain present, speak honestly, listen deeply, and become curious about what each of us brings into the room. This is a physical and psychological place where we can become more aware, more responsible and more able to meet another person as they are with compassion, at times assessment but not judgement.

Can you learn relationship from a book?

Well you can - but it only goes so far. (I grew up on Jane Austin and the Bronte sisters)

Books and theory matter. They offer language, understanding and maps for the work. But relationship is something we encounter and live. And it can be really hard.

It is felt in the space between people — in moments of trust and uncertainty, closeness and distance, difference misunderstanding and repair. It asks us to notice what is happening within ourselves while remaining open to the experience of another.

At TAC, our relationships and the learning group become part of the work. Trainees develop the capacity to stay present when something difficult emerges, to listen beneath what is spoken, and to approach vulnerability with curiosity and care.

Psychotherapy is not only something we do. It grows from who we are able to be in relationship.

Self-discovery can arrive in unexpected forms—even as a very large beard!

In “Who are you, Rosalind?”, Rosalind shares a dream that aftermaking her horrified also made her laugh and prompted a deeper reflection on identity, leadership and her relationship with the animus within her.

It is a playful nudge that growth is not always predictable. Sometimes the images that surprise us most have something meaningful to say.

And that's part of what we offer in A Space for Growth - a place where the unconscious can nudge you, your conscious knowledge can grow, and an opportunity to practice different roles such as practitioner, supervisor, teacher and leader.
This is an online learning journey for those of you who want more from their CTA and possibilities beyond. (See link below for more information)

Who are you, Rosalind?

Not such an easy question to answer!

In this conversation, Rosalind shares an unexpected dream in which she had an enormous beard. After being slightly horrified, it made her laugh, and exploring this through a Jungian lens, it also became a meaningful symbol of her relationship with leadership, agency and the animus within her.

The story is playful, personal and revealing. It offers that growth can emerge through unexpected and revealing images.

At A Space for Growth, we believe professional development is also personal development. It is about becoming more grounded in who we are, integrating different aspects of ourselves and bringing that fuller self into our work with others.

Watch “Who are you, Rosalind?” and meet the person behind the professional.

Traian brings curiosity, relational depth and a deep respect for the capacity of people to learn and grow. His commitment to creating spaces rooted in openness, challenge and OK-ness is central to the spirit of A Space for Growth - an online learning journey that is for those of you that want more from their CTA and possibilities beyond. Think deeply. Feel fully. Practise responsibly.

Intellectual understanding is part of the work, held alongside embodied awareness, relationship and ethical reflection.

Psychotherapy training can become a gradual deepening: learning to listen beneath the words, to notice what moves through the body, and to remain curious about the images, patterns and longings that emerge from the deeper psyche.

At TAC, theory offers a map for this journey. The learning is also lived — through relationship, reflection and the courage to meet ourselves with honesty and compassion.

Over time, trainees develop a mind that can think carefully, a heart that can remain open, and a grounded professional presence that can stay alongside another person in moments of pain, uncertainty and change.

Applications for the next training intake open on 1 November 2026.

Psychotherapy training can become a meeting with the whole self.

At TAC, learning begins with Transactional Analysis and moves beneath the surface — into relationship, script, body, imagination, shadow, and those parts of ourselves shaped before we had words for what we needed.

Becoming a psychotherapist is not only about understanding theory. It is about learning to listen for the inarticulate language of psyche and soul; meeting our own defences with compassion; and developing the presence to remain open when another person brings pain, vulnerability or uncertainty into the room.

This is a training that asks for mind, body and heart. We hold rigour and tenderness together, because depth psychotherapy needs both.

Applications open on 1 November 2026.
