We are excited to share with you the news that our school has been given the opportunity to create inspiring posters to decorate the construction boards in Ashburton Park as the redevelopment of the park takes place. Two members of the Croydon team who are leading on the project visited our school to share the news with us and what we can look forward to seeing in the park in the future. Our children created pictures of the changes and the things they are most excited about seeing. Some of the pictures will be selected and displayed for our local community to enjoy!

We were delighted to see our academy featured in Insider Croydon last term following a visit from Joanne McCartney AM, Deputy Mayor for Children and Families, who came to see the impact of the Mayor of London’s universal free school meals programme.
Joined by Natasha Irons MP for Croydon East, Ms McCartney toured our academy with pupils, saw how healthy meals are embedded into daily life, and joined children for lunch! 👏

Today was Drop Everything and Read!
Our children arrived in their comfiest clothes, ready to dive straight into their current books.
Throughout the day, at unexpected moments, everything stopped so we could enjoy a few calm, cosy minutes of reading. The children absolutely loved it — relaxing, getting comfy, and feeding their imaginations with a good book.
A wonderful way to celebrate the joy of reading!

Anti Bullying Week The Power of Good starts next week.
To start the week off with fun, on Monday 10th November will be Odd Socks Day where children are encouraged to wear odd socks to school for the day to celebrate our individuality. There will be no cost for taking part in this.
Also, part of this week, on Thursday we will be celebrating World Kindness Day where we will focus on the power of kindness as well as asking pupils to carry out an act of deliberate kindness to make the world a better place and to reflect on how it made themselves and others feel.

As part of our ECO commitment, we are working on recycling as many materials and items as possible. We are excited to announce that we are participating in the Big Battery Hunt with Duracell. Please can you send in all ‘dead’ batteries, so that we can recycle them.
The more we collect the more entries we get in Duracell’s competition to have the Duracell Bunny visit us along with a number of other exciting prizes. Please send all 'dead' batteries from Monday 10th November 2025.

Thursday our Eco champions visited our primary sites to see all things ECO and the changes and work we are doing to be environmentally friendly, sustainable and our work on our climate change plan.
The champion was very impressed with what she saw this included: Reduction of gas from last year to this year SG 46% LL 49%. Across the school we are beginning to reduce the amount of electricity used.
On Energy Sparks, we are currently ranked 5th Nationally and 2nd (jointly SG and LL) in the region!
This is great news and we are proud of our sustainability
