With GCSE results just around the corner, it’s a good time to start thinking about your next steps.

If you’re unsure about your options, our NEET team in Croydon support young people aged 16-24 with opportunities in education, training, apprenticeships and employment.

This Thursday, the LLC team will be at Legacy Youth Zone, supporting young people who may still be deciding what to do in September.

Today we had the pleasure of spending time at London Learning Consortium supporting learners as they explored career opportunities, discussed how to get started in employment, and took part in mock interviews.

These sessions have a real impact and simply couldn't happen without the generosity of our business volunteers. A huge thank you to our volunteers from Mott MacDonald, Network Rail and Micca Marketing; Matthew Frost, Mohinee Bhagawan (both pictured), Jamie Hayes and Michelle Perkins. Your time, encouragement and honest feedback made a genuine difference.

One learner rated their interview confidence as 6/10 at the beginning of the session and 8/10 by the end. Across the group, we saw similar increases in confidence and readiness for employment.

"I really enjoyed my interview."
"I feel more confident and comfortable."
"It was good, my interviewer explained the questions well."

It's amazing what can happen when employers share their experience and take the time to encourage someone at the start of their career journey.

Today we were back at London Learning Consortium sharing career journeys and running mock interviews for some fantastic young people as they prepare to take their first steps into employment.

These sessions are only possible because of the incredible support of our volunteers. A huge thank you to Amber Perrier and Eve Quinn from Mulalley & Company Limited, Roisin Murtagh from Airtek Surveys Ltd and Dr Sheldon St. Claire FRSA for generously giving their time, sharing their experiences, and offering practical advice to help build participants' confidence.

It's always rewarding to hear the impact these workshops have. Every participant told us they felt more confident after the session, with comments including:

"Very informative, the interviewers were friendly and I felt guided throughout the session."

"It was a great experience. It was my first interview, but I felt well supported."
