Remember:if you see the sign late and cut up other road users up you will
fail your driving test If you begin to go the wrong route,simply
continue then the examiner will assist you to get back on track.All
drivers make errors and take wrong turns and that's the point of
this portion of the driving test.It will demonstrate how to avoid
making mistakes and how to handle going the wrong way.

It won't matter how many incorrect turns you make or if you fetch up in totally the wrong place. Your destination isn't marked only your driving skill on route is, therefore It doesn't matter if the sign says left and you straight on by mistake.
Independent driving Part II
A different way it will be done is a variety of directions and
instructions like "Take the third left, second left and then follow road
signs to Croydon railway station". For some of these instructions you
will be shown a diagram or map. If you ask, the examiner will write down
the destination so you know how it's spelt.
Part I
From the 4th of October for ten minutes of your driving test you will have to navigate to a destination using just diagrams and/or road signs with no instructions by the examiner during the journey. The examiner will offer you two or three directions to follow like "Take the next left then the second right".

So what's going to change for learner drivers this year (from 4th of the October) ?
The driving tests in UK are being altered from 4th October 2010. In 2008
it was determined by the government that to concur with the driving
tests seventy-fifth birthday it ought to be more difficult and
exhaustive in an endeavor to reduce the amount of inexperienced drivers
involved in accidents. None of these alterations make any difference if
you're ready for a driving test.
