Sleeping with knowledge is better than praying with ignorance.

“Centuries after Plato’s allegory, neuroscience now confirms that indeed, perception is a filter, not a passive window onto reality. Our brains are not cameras capturing an objective world; they are artists crafting a narrative. Light pours onto your retina upside‑down and full of gaps—yet you don’t see the world as an upside‑down patchwork full of holes.”

“Is it surprising that prisons resemble factories, schools, barracks, hospitals, which all resemble prisons?”

~ Michel Foucault

“But who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most, our one fellow and brother who most needed a friend yet had not a single one, the one sinner among us all who had the highest and clearest right to every Christian's daily and nightly prayers, for the plain and unassailable reason that his was the first and greatest need, he being among sinners the supremest?”

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought: it is founded on our thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him, as the wheel follows the foot of the ox that draws the carriage… If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.”

~ Siddhartha Gautama Buddha

Many of us are willing to extend a helping hand, but we're very reluctant to reach out for help when we need it ourselves. It's as if we've divided the world into "those who offer help" and "those who need help." The truth is that we are both.
