📍 The Sports Club, Croham Manor Road, South Croydon, CR2 7BG

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Little Whits Nursery.

🕘 Hours: 9:30am – 2:00pm
📅 Monday to Thursday
🌱 Term time only – 38 weeks per year

The role will include:
• Preparing simple, nutritious meals for our nursery children – the menu will be prepared by the Nursery Manager and all ingredients will be provided.
• Carrying out and recording fridge and freezer temperature checks.
• Keeping accurate food hygiene and kitchen records.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Following food hygiene and allergen procedures.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has basic knowledge and confidence in food preparation.
• Is reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Is willing to complete a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Is willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
• Understands the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene when preparing food for young children.

Full training will be provided, so previous catering experience is not essential, but basic food preparation knowledge is required.

Part-Time | Term-Time Only | 19.5 hours per week
We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and wonderfully patient Early Years Practitioner to join our team, working with children aged 6 months to 5 years.
You’ll help create a happy, safe and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and flourish — while answering approximately 387 questions a day and accepting that glitter is now a permanent part of your wardrobe.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting children’s learning and development through play and engaging activities.
• Caring for babies and young children, including feeding, changing and daily routines.
• Observing children’s progress and supporting their next steps in line with the EYFS.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Keeping children safe, happy and entertained — sometimes all three at once!
• Joining in with stories, songs, messy play and imaginative adventures.
• Following safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures.
We’re Looking for Someone Who…
• Is warm, patient, reliable and genuinely loves working with children.
• Has relevant Early Years experience and/or qualifications.
• Has a good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding.
• Can stay calm during serious emergencies involving broken biscuits or the wrong-coloured cup.
• Is willing to sing nursery rhymes enthusiastically, regardless of musical ability.
• Can transform a cardboard box into a castle, rocket or dinosaur cave at a moment’s notice.
The Important Bits
Hours: 19.5 hours per week
Contract: Part-time, term-time only
Age range: 6 months–5 years

We have had lots of fun on world book day

At little whits we have had lots of fun over the last few months . We have celebrated Diwali , black history,autumn , Halloween, fireworks , colours , numbers and space and children in need

Little whits have had a great few months learning different topics from weather , transport , mini beasts and under the sea . The children have explored different tuff tray activities including a range of different textures . We have been bug hunting and exploring outdoors .
