Friday morning bilateral drawing with some of our wonderful artists. Working both hemispheres of the brain to welcome creativity without fearing mistakes helps us relax, sharpen our focus, and build confidence in drawing. What a lovely way for us to start the day.

Hello, I’m Sabah 🐕🦺
I’m 13 months old, full of intrigue, and I’ve just joined school life. I’ve been getting to know the school and exploring the grounds - I do enjoy a good run when I can, but I’m equally happy taking a moment to see what’s going on.
My name, Sabah, comes from the northern tip of Borneo and means “new beginnings” or “good morning”. ☀️ It’s a reminder that every day is a chance to start again, make positive changes, and turn over a new leaf 🍃 something I hope pupils will feel when they see me around school.
I’ve already met lots of pupils and staff (thank you for all the friendly welcomes), and I’m enjoying learning the rhythms of the day and finding my favourite spots around school 🏫
I’m here as a working dog to support pupil wellbeing, so for now I’m spending time settling in and learning. After half term, you’ll start to see a little more of me, with opportunities to spend some time together. 💚
Until then, I’ll be out and about… noticing everything, learning quickly, and occasionally stretching my legs. 🐶

Last week, Early Years had a delightful visit to The Selsdon Centre for the Retired, where Nursery and Reception pupils sang a mixture of Spring and Easter-themed songs to the residents. Songs included, ‘It Must be Spring’, ‘Here Come the Bees and the Butterflies’, and ‘Spring in my Toes’. It really was a lovely afternoon. We look forward to our next visit.
