After careful consideration of the available information and the exceptional nature of a Red Weather Warning, we have taken the decision to close the school on Wednesday 24 June 2026 and Thursday 25 June 2026.
At present, no weather warning is in place for Friday 26 June 2026. We therefore expect pupils to return to school on that day. To support pupilsβ comfort in the anticipated warm conditions, blazers, ties and jumpers will not be required.
To minimise disruption to learning, lessons and resources will be uploaded to Google Classroom. We expect pupils to engage fully with their timetabled work during the closure period and to complete all tasks set.
We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and any guidance issued by the relevant authorities. Should the situation change, we will communicate any further updates as promptly as possible.

πβ¨ Celebrating Culture at Shirley High School β¨π
On Friday 22 May 2026, Shirley High School proudly celebrated the many different ethnicities and cultures within our school community through a Cultural M***i Day.
Both pupils and staff wore clothing that represented their culture and heritage, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere across the school. β€οΈ
The event reflected our vision, values and mission by encouraging our pupils to become successful, respectful and well-rounded global citizens.
It was wonderful to see our community come together to appreciate and celebrate diversity while also raising money for our 4 house charities. π
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success!
