Congratulations to proud OP alumnae Emily & Debbie who both completed the London marathon yesterday! They were also raising money for MIND to help support mental health.

Thank you to Amanda, Sanaa, Alison, Fizza, Alyssa and Fiona for speaking to Year 13 students today about life after Sixth Form. We really appreciated your insight into the world of work and university.

There is no more fitting tribute to the proud generations of talented Old Palace students than our final musical production of Sister Act last week. It was a fantastic production and the cast, crew and drama, music & dance staff worked incredibly hard in the most testing of times to create a completely delightful show. Smashed it again Old Palace! 💪

Sanyu our alumnae graduate performing arts assistant didn't bargain on this level of commitment when she joined the team this year!

It was fantastic to catch up with old friends from the Class of 2023 this evening as they collected their exam certificates…. Wishing you all the very best for 2024!

We would like to warmly invite you back to Old Palace for your GCSE & A Level certificate ceremony and reunion on Thursday 4th January 2024.

Traditionally this event is a lovely opportunity to catch up with old friends and to take a little trip down memory lane. We will also be presenting you with your official GCSE or A Level certificates in a short ceremony.

We hope to see many of you on the 4th January. Friends and family are also welcome to attend.

Dear friends, we are delighted to confirm the first in a series of alumnae events taking place between now and summer 2025.

Our annual Christmas Carol Service is on Monday 11th December, starting at 6pm. This year we are also arranging school tours from 4.30pm and there will be refreshments and a chance to mingle both before and after the service. We hope to see many of you there.

Old Palace for life!

You will no doubt have heard about the tragic death of one of our students, Elianne Andam, last Wednesday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-66977493

I visited the Senior School on your behalf on Thursday to lay flowers in Elianne’s memory and to deliver a letter to Mrs Burton expressing our sorrow and sympathy for Elianne’s family and offering our love and support to staff and pupils.

For any OPA in the area, there is a book of condolences available to sign in the school from 2-5 October. OPAs may also bring flowers to lay in the Medieval Gardens 5.30-6pm daily.

Following yesterday's announcement, we have taken the decision to cancel the Founders Day celebrations next Friday

Alumnae - you are warmly invited to join us to celebrate Founders Day at Croydon Minster, followed by tea. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Stafford who swept the board this summer, winning both the Sports Day trophy and Annual House Competition!

This week we said farewell to 5 much-loved, long-standing members of staff with 97 years (+2 months) service between them! We wish Mr & Mrs Talleux, Ms Goddard, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Bhat a very happy retirement. Thankyou for your dedication to Old Palace and all you have done to support the school and students.

What a lovely afternoon for a reunion! It was fantastic to see so many join us today to share memories and to meet old friends. Thank you to the OPA committee for organising and thank you to all those who joined us.

We are really looking forward to welcoming over 80 alumnae to our OPA Summer Reunion tomorrow. The weather is looking beautiful, so we will be holding welcome drinks in the courtyard and lunch in the (mercifully cool) Banqueting Hall.

Don't forget that the Old Palace of John Whitgift School car park will be open (located in Church Road, CRO 1SB); alternatively there are plenty of metered spaces in Old Palace Road.
