Hi! I'm Helen. I run Spanish and French language classes, after-school clubs and events for children and parents, primary schools and nurseries.

✨ Happy Saint George's Day to my English and Catalan followers! ✨✈️

Did you know that St George — or Sant Jordi — is the patron saint of both England and Catalonia?

In Catalonia, this day is celebrated in the most beautiful way: with books and roses. 🌹📚 It’s not just for couples — children, friends, and families all join in by gifting roses and sharing books.

On Sant Jordi’s Day alone, more than 1.5 million books are sold and 6 million roses are given across the region! 💫

One of the most iconic sights is Casa Batlló in Barcelona, designed by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. The building was inspired by the legend of St George — its roof is shaped like a dragon’s back and it has colourful pastel scales across its facade, On this day, the balconies are dressed with bright red roses. 🐉🌹

✨️ We have a winner! 🌎

🌱 Miss M (in an excellent disguise) - First place in our flowerpot decorating competition in after-school Spanish club!

🐞 We did lots of lovely activities today, learning words like 'mariquita' (ladybird), pájaro (bird), and 'flor' flower.

🌻 Everyone has gone home with their plant pot and some dwarf sunflower seeds. I can't wait to see how they get on with growing these at home!

🐝En el jardín - In the garden 💐

I am absolutely loving this sunshine, it really does feel like Spring is in the air! So with that in mind, our theme for this weeks session is 'in the garden'!

👨‍👧‍👦 You and your little one don’t need any previous knowledge of Spanish, and siblings under 2 go free!

🎡 From bubbles and ribbon wands to parachute games, songs, and creative crafts, each session is packed with interactive play. With different themes each week, often linked to your child's favourite stories, we bring learning to life!

☕ Hot drinks are provided for parents so you can relax and chat while the kids have fun.

🧸This week in Preschool Spanish, we’re having a Teddy Bear's Picnic so feel free to bring your favourite teddy to join in the fun!

🐻 We’ll be exploring some food and drinks through some storytelling and interactive fun as well as practising some of our essentials like colours, animals and numbers.

🎨 Plus, we’ll get creative with lots of fun crafts and plenty of movement to keep our little ones engaged!

🌎 Happy half term to all of my lovely families 🌎

✨To those who have time off this week I hope you enjoy a good break, and to those juggling work and childcare I wish you as easy a week as possible!

✨I will still be working this week with my adult classes but just a reminder that there are no after school clubs or pre-school sessions this week...we will be back with a bang next week! 🥳

✨New term dates for preschool Spanish will be out this week and our next session is Teddy Bears Picnic where we will be looking at lots of food in Spanish! 🧸
