The children put on an incredible performance on Monday of 'A midsummer nights dream'. Thank you to all staff, parents, volunteers and of course the children for all of the hard work that was put into making it so memorable.

Highlights include the lions roar, beautiful solos and wonderful costumes and scenery.

Looking forward to next years performance already!

What a way to enjoy the sunshine!

Hazel Class and Sycamore Class – along with the teachers too! – joined forces for a giant water fight and slip and slide on the field. There was plenty of splashing, lots of laughter, and smiles all round as everyone enjoyed cooling off in the glorious sunshine.

A fantastic afternoon of fun, teamwork and making memories together!

On Thursday last week the school had a visit from artist, Sam Jukes. He installed his sculptural artworks in Catkins class for the children to view. It was a truly immersive experience, with sound, sculpture and moving images of nature.

A drawing workshop followed and the children used paint, pencils and natural materials to create a large drawing on paper.

The whole school had a wonderful time on the field at the FOHPS Summer Party. The children enjoyed taking part in lots of fun games, including an over-and-under water balloon challenge. It was lovely to see everyone having fun with their friends and making the most of the sunshine. The afternoon ended with a refreshing ice lolly for all to enjoy.

A huge thank you to our FOHPS Team for organising such a fantastic event and creating these special memories for our children.

Hazel class had a lovely time at Magdalen farm on Wednesday this week. We went pond dipping and found dragonfly nymph, baby newts and tadpoles and even a water spider. We are also took advantage of the beautifully clear River Axe and cooled off when looking at the river habitats and managed to catch a bullhead fish which is a sign of a clean and healthy river.

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome our local MP, Mr Adam Dance, to school. Mr Dance spoke to the children about his role as a Member of Parliament, sharing what a typical day looks like, what it is like working in Parliament, and how his interest in politics led him to stand for election. He also encouraged the children to think about how they can make a positive difference in their communities both now and in the future.

The visit concluded with a lively question-and-answer session, where the children asked a range of thoughtful and thought-provoking questions, helping them gain a deeper understanding of politics, public service, and the importance of having a voice in society.

Yesterday, Year 5 had an amazing time at Rockley Park, taking part in a range of exciting water activities, including paddleboarding, giant paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking. The children thoroughly enjoyed their time on the water and, unsurprisingly, got very wet in the process! It was wonderful to see them developing their teamwork, confidence and resilience whilst having so much fun. A huge thank you to Miss Chapman for accompanying the children and helping to make the day such a memorable experience. 🌊🚣‍♀️☀️

The children had a wonderful time at Gardening Club yesterday after school, enjoying a range of hands-on gardening activities. They planted seeds, African Marigolds and Antirrhinums, while learning the proper names of the plants they were growing. The children also worked hard to keep our garden beds looking their best by removing pesky weeds. To add a personal touch to the garden, they proudly planted the wooden spoon signs they created the previous week. It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm, teamwork and care for our school garden!
