This week we have been busy in the garden, planting beans and peas, checking on the herbs and flowers and adding the canes. The children are taking real pride in the planting area and a keen to see the changes that have been happening recently 🫛🌱🪻

Forest School 🌳🌿🦉

This week we had our very first Forest School session in Goostrey Community Primay School’s woodland area with Ffion — and what a brilliant start it was!

The children explored the space, learned how to stay safe in the woodland, and took part in an exciting scavenger hunt. 🔍

There was so much curiosity, teamwork and enthusiasm!

Forest School helps children to build confidence, resilience and independence, while developing physical skills, problem-solving and a real love of the outdoors 🌱

We’re so excited that these sessions will now take place every week — let the woodland adventures begin! 🪾🌳

🌿Learning through nature at Pre-School🌿

As part of the Big School Birdwatch we have been exploring our environment and learning about the birds that visit us, where they live, and how we can help them. From making bird feeders and binoculars to creating craft and birds nest the children have been developing observation skills, new language and an understanding of the nature around us. 🪶🐦‍⬛🐦✨

🎄Christmas Stay and Play 🎄

Thank you to all our families for joining us this morning at our stay and play session it was wonderful to see so many of you come and join in. We had craft activities, sensory play, reindeer food making, hot chocolate role play and much more.

♥️Remembrance Day ♥️

Today we have been leaning about Remembrance Day, the children have created some beautiful poppy artwork, explored red and black play dough and we have talked about the importance of being kind and caring for each other 👩‍❤️‍👨.
Some of the children also took a special walk to the church to lay our poppy artwork and see all the wonderful poppies around the village. ⛪️

Bonfire Night fun! 🎇🎆
This week we have been exploring Bonfire Night with lots of fun activities, the children have enjoyed telling us all about their own experiences of Bonfire Night.
We have created our own wonderful firework artwork, explored patterns, colours and textures, made our own chocolate sparklers (which was a big hit!) and learnt about how to stay safe around bonfires and fireworks. 🔥✨

Our fabulous display at the school exhibition, the theme this year is ‘A Good Book’ the children have loved telling us all about their favourite stories and we have enjoyed reading some of them over the last few weeks. 📖
The exhibition is open today in the Junior hall until 6pm and tomorrow from 2:30-6:00pm, you can go and have a look at all the wonderful work the children at Goostrey Primary School and Pre-School have been doing.

Exploring Harvest with Reverend Christine from St Luke’s Church. ⛪️

This week we welcomed Reverend Christine into Pre-School to talk to the children about the Harvest Festival, she brought in some food bank donations and Wheat Sheafs provided by one of our families. We also had a lovely story about the hard work the farmers do harvesting the crops. 🌾🚜🍂🍁
