An intervention programme to tackle poor attendance in schools: Interventions for a brighter future

06/02/2024

I’m posting this to canvas opinion on whether there’s any interest in these sorts of programmes.
Parents want the best for their child but in today’s society it is often really difficult to access appropriate help and guidance. They are 6 week programmes and they are not designed to replace professional interventions but to fill gaps in care and to promote discussion and understanding.
People would get a PDF programme and I’m looking at a pricing of maybe £10 - £15. Please have a look at the descriptions and give me some feedback, thanks in advance Anna x

I’M IN CONTROL - This course is designed for those students who struggle to control their emotions, their outbursts and their anger. Structured to address each trigger.. We are looking to alter their automatic responses and replace them with more positive reactions to life’s events.

GIVE ME STRENGTH - This is an intervention aimed at students who suffer from low confidence, anxiety, phobias and who are generally lost in their world. Aiming to establish the triggers to their behaviour and addressing them, giving the student skills and tools to escape from their negative world.

FAMILY - This intervention looks at a child’s central family; who they are and how they all work together. The aim is to educate both the adult and the child about the benefits of positive relationships and how negative relationships can have a destructive impact upon their lives, now and in the future.

BODY CONFIDENCE - This programme considers; how they see themselves, how they are affected by how they look, who influences them, the negative and positive media messages and how they can regain their strength and self worth.

BEHAVIOUR AND ME - This course is aimed at establishing a ‘relationship’ with a difficult child. Considering who and what they trust and why they make the decisions which get them into trouble. It aims to address the ongoing issues and try and formulate a plan to address the negative behaviours.

I've just read an article about 'favourite teachers', I'm sure we all have them. I think that my most influential teacher when I was growing up was actually my dance teacher Gail, she taught me so much more than just dance.
One of the reasons that I wanted to work with children was because I wanted to be a positive influence on them, I was inspired by John Lean who I'd heard so many amazing stories about.
Who were your favourite and inspirational teachers?
