On Tuesday, Year 6 enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon with inflatables from Adv4nce! 😀 A huge thank you to Mr Sutton at Adv4nce for making this happen - a very memorable afternoon! Here is a small selection of photos 📸

A huge ‘Thank You’ to everybody for making the Summer Fayre, on Thursday, such a successful event!
It was lovely to be able to open school up to families and see so many of our school community enjoying themselves.
We managed to raise a fantastic £1,619.68, which will go back into school to support the children and also future PTA-organised events. 🎉

⚽ SMCA Football Update ⚽

Our SMCA football team took on Beechwood this evening and, while the result didn't go our way, we couldn't be prouder of how our players represented our school.

Throughout the match, they demonstrated fantastic teamwork, excellent communication, and great determination from start to finish. Their effort, resilience, and positive attitude were a credit to our school.

A special mention goes to our Year 6 players, who played their final SMCA football match tonight. Thank you for all of your hard work, commitment, and dedication over the years. We wish you every success as you move on to the next exciting chapter.

We are so excited for our summer fayre this year!

All details are on the below poster, along with the names of local businesses who have kindly made donations for which we are very grateful.

Details of our upcoming non-uniform day on Monday 6th July are also below, in aid of our rainbow raffle. 🌈

We are SO proud of our fabulous athletes who participated in field events on Monday and then track events tonight at the Barony.🏃🏻‍♂️ 🏃🏾‍♀️

We have seen fantastic performances from everyone and brilliant sportsmanship - supporting one another and demonstrating our school CARE values.

We hope all of our families have had a lovely break, enjoying the beautiful weather ☀️

We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow for the final half term of the academic year. 💙🤩

This week, a letter will be shared outlining dates of lots of exciting events taking place over the next few weeks. Please keep an eye out for these details! 📆

A reminder:

EXCITING NEWS and IMPORTANT INFORMATION

From Thursday 21st May- Friday 12th June, we will have contractors on the school site as our Nursery outdoor space is transformed. This is a long-awaited-for project and one that we can't wait to see come to life, benefiting our current youngest pupils and many more in the years to come!

It does mean that we need to make some changes to drop off/collection during the period of work.

The main, green gate that opens on to the path next to the Nursery area will be closed at all times, including drop-off and pick-up.

The main, green gate located next to the bikes will be the only entrance/exit in use at drop-off and pick-up.

To ease congestion at the end of the day, we will open the school gates at 3:00pm, instead of 3:10pm.
Dismissal of children will remain as 3:15pm.

🚧 Roadworks🚧
The road outside school will be closed from Monday 1st June for one week, between the hours of 9:30am and 2:30pm each day.

Please allow extra time for drop-off/ pick-up as some parts of the road may be restricted.

As always, your patience and support is hugely appreciated.

Year 1 celebrated World Bee Day earlier this week 🐝
There was a real buzz of excitement across the classrooms!

We are proud to celebrate the fantastic reading and writing happening across our school! 📚✨

Our Year 5 children have brought poetry to life with the brilliant Granny Rap, showing confidence, creativity, and a real love for language.

In Year 2, pupils have been writing for a real-life purpose - crafting thoughtful letters to our local MP (Connor Naismith) about the importance of caring for our environment. We were delighted to welcome him into school to hear the children read their letters and to join them in a community litter pick. They were excellent representatives of our school, and we couldn’t be prouder of them all! 🌍💚

Yesterday, we also celebrated our keen readers with a special reward film afternoon (with snacks!) for those who have achieved 100 reads this year—an amazing milestone. Remember, every home read counts!

Well done everyone - what a fantastic achievement! There is still lots of time to earn reading rewards before the end of the year - keep going! 😊
