Powdery mildew is the main enemy to grow Bottle guard here in South Australia. My garden is doing well in spite of presence of some powdery mildew .

Sunlight and South Australian horticulture:
Sunlight is very important for plant growth and plant propagation. In some cases without sunlight production is not possible. Interesting thing is that we can measure sunlight by a device called lux meter or photometer. In South Australia summer midday sun is very harmful for plants. That time need to filter the Sunlight by putting a 50% shade .

South Australian farmers are producing Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Eggplants, Capsicums in big shade houses.
In open ground vegetable production is hard due to fluctuating temperature, strong wind , dry weather.
