🎉 10 Years of Run Leaders 🎉

As we get ready to celebrate 10 years of CRC, we thought it was time to give a huge shout-out to our Run Leaders, who give up their time to plan new sessions and turn up rain or shine to lead club runs 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏼

From the early days of playground sessions and out and backs to the current range of sessions we host, we appreciate all the time given to the club ♥️🖤♥️

A massive thank you to our run leaders and coaches past and present:

Mark, Shell, Sems, Simone, Anna, Darren, Bill, Malcom, Jack, Tina, Anna, Henry, Carolyn, Dan, Linda, Ria, Tracey, Craig, Stevie G, Steve, Neil , Lee, Emily, Simon, Ben, Maria and Joe

We’ve dug out some photos of our run leaders from across the last 10 years, enjoy a little trip down memory lane 🏃🏽‍♀️

🍂 It’s time for a September recap 🍂

Tilgate laps, Sunday socials, hills, intervals, taking over one parkrun and touring to another …. we have been busy as usual!

We’ve also started the countdown to our 10-year anniversary 🎉 with some themed sessions:

🔟 Station rotations (and questionable Strava art 😂)
🔟 10-minute blocks
🔟hill repeats

With the evening light fading, it’s time to say goodbye to some of our regular summer sessions and say hello to headtorches and winter sessions in October. With a second monthly track session, a 10 hour relay and other birthday countdown fun added to schedule, remember to check out Spond and book on, or contact us to sign up as a member 🏃🏽‍♀️

Since 2018, we’ve been fundraising for some amazing charities.🎉 In fact, we’ve been so busy, we’ve forgotten to take many photos!

In recent years these charities have been nominated and selected by our members, meaning these are all causes close to our hearts.

Thanks to your incredible support via donations, raffles and special events and sponsorship, we’ve raised almost £5000 so far supporting the following charities:

The Mark Lay Foundation
Myeloma Uk
Oscars Wish
Greyhound Trust
JDRF
Lost dog recovery (south)
West Sussex MIND
St Catherines Hospice

This year, we’re proud to be supporting KSS Air ambulance. Thank you for all your donations so far. Every donation, big or small is always appreciated.

Today was the day for a parkrun takeover.

Our members took the opportunity to support one of our two local events by swapping our running kit for high vis jackets, filling the volunteer roster and giving something back to the local running community 🫶🏻

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering at parkrun, give it a go! We all had a great morning ♥️

From the countryside to the coast, and all around the world, our members get everywhere!

We’d love to see where running has taken you over the last 10 years, whether that is on a scenic run, to a distant parkrun or an exciting race!

Share your favourite photos of you in your kit from around the world, as well as your most scenic running shot. Tag us in your photos or send them our way — we’d love to see where your running takes you! 🌍

In just 7 weeks, we’ll be celebrating 10 years of CRC! 🎉

Over the past decade, CRC has not only helped our members train for their next race, but has also been a place where friendships have blossomed.

Together we have shared countless miles and memories, although some things are best left in the past (hell runner 😈), it’s been great!

Some of the members in these pictures are no longer with us, but they are fondly remembered and very much missed.

CRC is more than just the miles you run, it’s about the people you get to share them with ❤️

Feel free to share with us your favourite CRC pictures, either on here on on our memories wall - the link is in our bio and on Spond ❤️

Here are a few of our favourites, found from the archives and a few run leaders camera roles!

In 10 weeks time CRC will be turning 10!

Starting out with weekly playground sessions and social runs to the bathstore. Although we’ve come along way, some things haven’t changed much at all!

We had a little look through some of our early pictures and this is what we found:

🏃🏽‍♀️ Tilgate social runs
🏃🏼 Our first ever session
🏃🏽‍♀️ First kit launch
🏃🏼Our first indoor session
🏃🏽‍♀️ Our first track session
🏃🏼 The first of many annual bowling nights - look who won!

We are starting our birthday celebrations this week, with a series of special sessions running all the way up to our birthday. Don’t forget to check out Spond and sign up, and keep a look out on our socials as we share more memories from the last 10 years.

It’s time for an August recap 🔁

August brought us more hot weather, with a few sessions being adapted due to the heat.

We ran 20 sessions. This included:

- 2 league races - Highdown Hike and Windlesham Whip
-The finale of our 5k improvement sessions, where our runners showed excellent improvement despite the heat impacting training throughout
- A parkrun tour
-Horsham Round - a 31 mile relay on the trails around Horsham. Runners can do a minimum of 3 miles as part of a team, but our runners did a lot more!

So if you like the sound of:

🏃🏽‍♀️Interval, hill and social sessions that are held in locations that enable you to run at your own pace. Like our sessions at Tilgate, Ifield Mill Pond and West Green park this month.
🏃🏼Monthly parkrun tours - this month we visited Kingdom, celebrating a 200th parkrun and completion of a challenge.
🏃🏽‍♀️ Social runs, including our 3km Friday 3.
🏃‍♂️ Structured training sessions like our 5k improvement plan.
🏃🏼 Enjoying summer evenings on the trails.
🏃🏽‍♀️ Having the opportunity to challenge yourself at league races, or enjoy the sunset on the Downs.

Then get in touch and join us for September as we start to count down to our 10 year anniversary 🎉
