Coven of ATHO

The Head of ATHO - This is a copy of the Coven of Atho lesson course (1962) taught by Ray Howard when he was 36 years old. This copy was shared with me in 2008, but they only had one page. It was unclear where they got their copy. It wasn’t the copy now in the ownership of the Doreen Valiente Foundation that contains hand written notes by Doreen. Later I got a copy from the Norfolk Record Office for myself and Melissa and confirmed this page shared with me in 2008 came from their archive. Melissa Seims got permission from the Norfolk Record Office to reproduce it in her book Here Be Magick (2021). You can also acquire a copy from the Norfolk Record Office if you reference MC 2817/1. I highly recommend getting Melissa’s book, which contains a lot of great insights and details on the history of this interesting branch of Witchcraft.

In 2020 the Norfolk Record Office wrote an article "Remote Learning with the Coven of Atho". It was at that time Melissa, and a few others started to ask me more questions about the Coven of Atho. That was when I began to share online more about the Mysteries of ATHO.

In 2007 I took John Belham-Payne and his wife to visit the Georgia Guidestones. Sicne then, and over the years far right wing extreamists conspiracy theorists took out their anger on the Georgia Guidestones and sprayed painted it, tossed paint on it. Eventually someone blew them up with explosives! The stones message was a concern of global over population with a belief that something would push down the global population to under 500 million. Some interpreted this as a belief that a secret kabal would cause the world population to be under 500 million. The fear of overpopulation was a big fear in the 1970s and 1980s in the USA. Today there is a concern that over the next 100 years, we will have a global depopulation. Some verbage of "world court" was used on the stones. I think some took this to mean support for "world order". The stones message was for each nation to be rulled internally resolving disputes with a world court to avoid global wars. That does not sound like a one world order to me. But sadly, the truth is the person that constructed the Geogia Guidestones was a supporter of eugenics. And I don't support eugenics. He was not apart of any world order or secret kabal. I personally think the Georgia Guidestones should have had no words on them. Just stones standing quietly like those in the UK and Europe. It was a beutiful structure. Could this kind of extream protest by far right wing conspiracy theorits expand beyond the countryside of Rural Georgia USA? It is possible. So let this post be a warning of what could happen in other places. I stand by the rule of "An it harm none, do what thy will." If the person next to you holds a belief different than yours, that should be fine as long as they are not causing harm. Words and stones are just things. They don't hurt anyone. When there are no monumuents to destroy and take out their anger, who do these extreamists turn to next to take out their anger? Blessed Be They Who Worship the Goddes. WiLL the Fish.

Doreen Valiente had an interesting style of covering ALWYCH notebooks in felt. I've prepared three notebooks. The green and red felt notebooks will contain Coven of Atho lore from Ray Howard, Charles Cardell along with poems by Doreen Valiente. The black notebook will eventually be covered in black felt with the rune Algiz in red rhinestones. This will contain mostly writings from Doreen Valiente. I hope to share more as I complete pages in these books.
