What a lovely day weβve had today! π€οΈ
The rain kindly held off just long enough for us to enjoy a little trip out to the shops.
While we were out, we popped into the pet shop as Kim is still thinking about getting a guinea pig for the setting.
The guinea pigs were especially cute today, and we very nearly came home with one! πΉ
The children were fantastic throughout our walk. They did an amazing job waving and saying hello to people we passed, bringing lots of smiles to faces along the way. It was wonderful to see their confidence and friendly manners shining through.
They were also incredibly sensible, listening carefully, staying together, and showing great awareness of their surroundings. We are so proud of how well they represented our setting today.
A lovely outing filled with smiles, fresh air, and plenty of learning opportunities along the way! π
Who thinks we should get a Guinea Pig ???

βοΈπ³ What a wonderful day we had at the park today! π³βοΈ
The sunshine was out, the children had lots of fun exploring, and we even got to take our new buggy out for its first adventure πΊβ¨.
As a childminder, one of the things I love most is being able to make the most of opportunities like these.
Our small, home-from-home setting allows us to enjoy regular outings within the local community, giving the children plenty of opportunities to explore the world around them and experience new things.
Spending time outdoors is so beneficial for children. Fresh air, physical activity, and open-ended play all support their wellbeing, confidence, development, and curiosity.
Whether we're spotting wildlife, chatting about what we can see, or simply enjoying a run around in the sunshine, every outing provides valuable learning experiences.
We had lots of smiles, lots of laughter, and made some lovely memories today. Here's to many more outdoor adventures in our new buggy! ππ

Before and Afterβ¦β¦β¦β¦.
Our setting looks even more amazing now that that we have a window in, meaning more natural light π‘
One of our amazing martial arts parents came today to help us out and we think he has done a fantastic job π€© even Rocky approves π
We now have the task of deciding what to do with the wall. Do weβ¦β¦β¦..
1. Put the curtain back on
2. Board it up and paint it
3. Put loads of shelves up to display things π
Let us know your thoughts π

π¦βοΈ DINOSAUR RESCUE MISSION! βοΈπ¦
Today we had another exciting day exploring dinosaurs! ππ¦ Our dinosaur friends had become trapped inside blocks of ice π§ and needed the help of our amazing children to rescue them! πͺβ¨
Using a variety of tools π¨πͺποΈ, the children carefully investigated different ways to free the dinosaurs. They chipped, scraped, tapped and explored, showing fantastic problem-solving skills and determination throughout the activity. π¦ππ
The children talked about what they could see π, shared ideas with their friends π£οΈπ«, and worked together to discover the best ways to melt and break the ice. π§β‘οΈπ§
Their excitement was wonderful to see as each dinosaur was successfully rescued! ππ
What a roaringly good day of learning, exploring and discovering! π¦πβ¨

β¨ Exploring, Discovering & Sensory Fun! β¨
What a wonderful morning of exploration and sensory play! The children had so much fun investigating different textures, colours, sounds, and materials through a variety of resources.
Sensory play is so important for childrenβs development π‘It helps strengthen fine motor skills , supports language and communication and encourages problem-solving and independent thinking π§ .
Exploring different sensory materials also helps children learn about the world around them in a fun and meaningful way. These activities are also fantastic for supporting emotional wellbeing.
Sensory experiences can be calming and relaxing while helping children build confidence, focus, and social skills as they play together π€π
Learning through play allows children to explore freely, follow their interests, and enjoy new discoveries every step of the way ππ§Έ

π‘οΈ Why Children Shouldnβt Attend Nursery After Having Calpol π‘οΈ
If your child has needed Calpol before coming to nursery, please keep them at home for the day.
Calpol can temporarily reduce a temperature and mask symptoms, but it does not cure the illness causing them.
Children who need Calpol are often still unwell and may be contagious, even if they seem brighter for a short time afterwards.
Bringing a child to nursery after giving Calpol can:
β’ Spread illness to other children, staff and their family
β’ Cause your child to become poorly again once the medication wears off
β’ Make it harder for staff to recognise when a child is genuinely unwell
β’ Prevent your child from getting the rest and recovery time they need.
Our priority is keeping all children safe, healthy, and comfortable. We kindly ask parents to keep children at home until they are well enough to participate fully in nursery activities without medication masking symptoms.
Thank you for your understanding and support π
