Back in July, Cherry Tree had a fantastic day out at Arreton Barns!

We started off at The Shipwreck Centre & Maritime Museum, where Ian and his team looked after us for the morning. We had a wonderful time learning more facts about the Titanic; we took part in an artefact hunt around the museum; we made plasticine boats and tried floating them with cargo on board; and we even made our own treasure chests! It was a delightful way to end our history unit on the Titanic and we all learnt so much!

After a spot of lunch overlooking the church and the duck pond, we were able to watch the incredible Timothy Harris and his glass blowing skills at the Isle of Wight Studio Glass. Following this, we ventured upstairs to be wowed by the beautiful glass sculptures at the IOW Glass Museum.

Finally, we went to Creaturama, where we met Anthony and he showed us around his brilliant exhibition. He has got so many different creations on display, all made from junk modelling and bits and bobs!

All in all, we had a wonderful day out and the children were polite and inquisitive, as always!

If you get the chance, I would definitely recommend you go to Arreton Barns - there is so much to do there!!

A huge well done to all of our Year 5/6 children for making tonight such a memorable evening!

The Pirates of the Curry Bean was an incredible success, showcasing so much talent, confidence, and teamwork. Every single one of you played a part in creating something truly special, and you should all be so proud of what you achieved.

To our Leavers of 2026, thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the joy you've brought over the years. You will be truly missed, and we wish each and every one of you the very best for your next adventure.

Apple Tree Class know how to keep cool! We made a brilliant homemade paddling pool - tyres, a giant sheet of tarpaulin, and plenty of sunshine! The children splashed, giggled, and dipped their toes in the water, enjoying simple summer fun while staying safe in the heat. Nothing beats fun in the sun with a little Apple Tree magic!

Elm Class enjoyed a fantastic morning at Briddlesford Farm. As part of our - Where does our food come from? topic, we explored the farm, met the calves and cows, found out all about local and seasonal food produce, as well as the journey of milk from farm to glass.
