🌟 A Truly Special Visit to Our School 🌟
Today, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome Sister Anna to our school, who brought with her a relic of Saint Carlo Acutis. This was a wonderful opportunity for our children and staff to learn more about Carlo’s inspiring faith, devotion, and his journey to sainthood.
The visit provided a time for prayer, reflection, and inspiration, helping us all to deepen our understanding of how young people can make a positive difference through their faith and actions.
As part of this special experience, both children and staff had the opportunity to create their own third-class relics, making the occasion even more meaningful and memorable. These will serve as treasured reminders of today’s encounter and Carlo’s message of holiness in everyday life.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sister Anna for sharing this special gift with our school community. It was a truly blessed and unforgettable experience for all.

✨✝️ ST • CARLO • ACUTIS • RETREAT • DAY ✝️✨

Today has been a truly special day at St Gregory’s as we welcomed the relics of St Carlo Acutis and spent time learning about the life of this inspiring young saint 🙏💙✨

We were delighted to welcome Sister Anna, a friend of the family of St Carlo Acutis, who brought a precious relic and shared Carlo’s life story with us, including the incredible miracles associated with him. Her stories helped bring Carlo’s faith and journey to sainthood to life for our children 🫶✨

Throughout the day, our children explored how Carlo used the gifts God gave him to share his faith and make a difference to others. Through activities, thoughtful discussions, prayer and creativity, they reflected on how they too can answer God’s call and use their own gifts for good 💙✨

We came together as a whole school for prayer and liturgy, and children also had the opportunity to spend quiet time praying in the presence of the relics. It created a truly beautiful and prayerful atmosphere across our school 🙏✨

Carlo’s message to be “originals, not photocopies” was a wonderful reminder that God has made each of us unique, with our own gifts and purpose 🤩✨

What a privilege to share such a special day together — one filled with faith, prayer, learning and inspiration, and a day that will remain in our St Gregory’s memories for years to come 💙✨

📢 Open Evening Time Update 📢

We are looking forward to welcoming prospective Year 7 families to Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School on Wednesday 16 September. ❤️

To help families enjoy both our Open Evening and the much-anticipated Coventry City v Aston Villa Carabao Cup fixture later that evening ⚽, we have brought our event forward.

🕓 Open Evening: 4.00pm - 6.00pm
🎤 Principal presentations: 5.00pm and 5.30pm

We are proud of our school community and can't wait to share what makes Cardinal Wiseman such a special place to belong. 😊

🏥🐧 Debbie’s Happy Penguin Walkers fundraiser for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity🐧 🏥

Debbie Colby was a parishioner in Saint Thomas More Church in Coventry, who created some of our school banners in Romero. On 12 September 2026, her husband is taking on the Thames Bridges Trek – 25km across London – in memory of his wonderful and talented wife, Debbie along with six other family members or friends.

Debbie passed away on 1st December 2025 after living with primary breast cancer and then secondary breast cancer that had spread to other parts of her body. Throughout her illness, they experienced incredible kindness, compassion and professionalism from the staff at the Arden Centre at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.

They are raising funds for the UHCW Charity and if you would like to donate to this cause as seven volunteers dressed as UHCW penguins take on this challenge please use the link below.🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧

Many of our families and staff have received treatment for cancer and other illnesses so we are happy to support this cause.

LEROS Festival
On behalf of the council, we have been asked to share a forthcoming festival that will bring together local treatment providers, lived experience recovery organisations (LEROS), peer-led groups, well-being practitioners and individuals in recovery.

📅 Saturday the 5th of September
🕛 11:00 am – Late Afternoon
📍 Millennium Place (Outside the Transport Museum)

What to Expect:
💬 Inspirational recovery stories
🎨 Arts and Crafts
🧘 Wellbeing space and activities
🤝 Community organisations and support services
🎉 Fun activities for all
👭Women’s only space

Whether you're in recovery, working in drug and alcohol services, supporting someone on their journey, or simply want to be part of a fun, positive and inspiring community event to celebrate National Recovery month, everyone is welcome.
We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Points to note:
The festival is an alcohol-free event, ensuring everyone can enjoy the day in a safe, supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
There will be no food vendors on site apart from an ice cream van. However, there are many shops and eateries within a short walk. We encourage you to bring a picnic as there will be plenty of picnic benches to sit on.
Toilets will be available at the festival site.
