Today we came together for our traditional end-of-term team lunch—a chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate everything we’ve achieved together this year (though we missed Jemma very much!).

With Academic Year 2024/25 coming to a close, it’s the perfect moment to recognise a year filled with remarkable growth, powerful impact, and real transformation.

While rapid growth brought its share of learning, it also brought incredible milestones we’re proud to celebrate:

🌟 Launched our 4-tier graduated model
🌟 Introduced the CAP SEND pathways
🌟 Supported hundreds more students, and worked with significantly more schools and providers
🌟 Helped students thrive by creating opportunities and removing barriers
🌟 Strengthened collaboration with professionals to wrap the right support around each learner
🌟 Expanded and began shaping our Primary Pathways
🌟 Received a SPIRE Award in recognition of our work
🌟 Welcomed two brilliant new colleagues— Catherine (QMO) and Janet (Secondary Lead)
🌟 Delivered our first-ever CAP Conference—a huge success!

The team has been at the heart of every achievement, showing passion, commitment, and belief in what we do—day in and day out.

And we’re not slowing down. In AY 2025/26, we’re looking forward to:
🔹 Launching a refreshed CAP Directory
🔹 Strengthening our QA processes
🔹 Rolling out brand new Post-16 Pathways
🔹 Introducing our Primary AP Framework

Coventry Alternative Provision (CAP) are super excited to be sharing our virtual launch of the CAP Directory 2024/25 through the month of June 2024...

We present POP!

We have been very quiet on our socials as we have been VERY busy with big service changes!

I am very proud to share that Work Related Learning have now changed our service name to Coventry Alternative Provision due to the breadth of our offer.

Along with the name change, I would like to share our Brand New Logo!

This academic year has had a fantastic start with lots of student referrals, new schools and lots of services wanting to know more about our service offer.

We have also launched our Graduated Model, which offers tiers of support to all students City wide. We will share more information about this in the coming weeks. Alternatively, check out our website.

Wow...Term 2 already!
Work Related Learning are focusing on Recycling and Litter Picking this half term for our sustainability project!
We already have students and providers excited to get involved and we have some exciting things planned.

Great News!

Coventry Work Related Learning have been working with North Star School to prepare a Pre-designed course that will focus on Personal Development and Transition from a Mainstream Setting into a Special Setting.



This course has been designed by the Directors at North Star School who have experience of working in a SEND specialist school. We asked them to look at creating a course as there is a clear need for this type of provision. The transition from a mainstream school into a specialist setting can be a huge challenge for young people and this course looks at ways of preparing students and helping them to understand the changes and how they feel about it by using personal development techniques.

Course details;
This course is available for students aged 9 and above initially in line with our WRL Framework.

The delivery will be held at North Star School- Coleshill Community Centre B46 1HH on Wednesdays and Fridays

The sessions times are 09.30am - 3.00pm.

All students will build their personalised ‘Toolkit’ to aid their transition into their new setting and a transition report will be provided to school to facilitate the move.
