Last week we took some children for a water confidence session at The Wave. We had a great time in the wave pool playing games and enjoying the water. Then we got to play in the Reef area. The kids loved the slides and splashing around. There were smiles all around!!

We are very excited to be starting our "Move Millions of Metres in May" fundraising from Friday 1st May 2026!
Throughout the month of May, staff, children and the wider Howes community will be taking part in this exciting challenge, aiming to move millions of metres through a range of activities such as walking, jogging, running, swimming, cycling - or anything else that can be measured in metres!
We have chosen to complete this challenge to raise as much money as we can in support of Alzheimer's Society. Many of our staff, families and wider community have been affected by the devastating impact of Alzheimers and we wanted to come together to make a difference and we hope you will join us! If you would like to help, please call into the school office for a record log.
If you are able to support us, please donate and share our JustGiving link with friends and family, to help raise as much as possible for this incredibly worthwhile cause.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Alzheimer's Society, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
You can donate to my JustGiving page by clicking here https://www.justgiving.com/page/howes-community-primary-school?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=EM
JustGiving sends your donation straight to Alzheimer's Society and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.
Thank you for your support in advance. Let's see how many metres we can move in May!

Maple class have been exploring which objects/materials are reflective in Science this week. We discovered that smoother objects are more reflective compared with objects that are rough as they absorb more light rather than reflect it!
