All prints bought help to donate sanitary pads to local food banks

Great morning spent volunteering at Coventry Foodbank today. The final donations of the year have been dropped off, and with the help of Morrisons Binley Community Champion, across 2021 we will have now distributed way over 10,000 pads in total to those who need them across the city. Thank you so much to everyone who got involved to donate and support throughout the year - seeing it all come together has been incredible and I can’t wait to continue fundraising in the new year! 💛✨

10k done!! Thanks so much to everyone who’s supported and donated over the last couple of months! I’ll be withdrawing the funds next week to start purchasing more pad donations, but until then the JustGiving link is still in the bio 💛💛💛

Let’s do this then! 2 months to prep, 10k to run, and no doubt a million aches and pains to be acquired 🤪

New running shoes have been bought and training starts tomorrow! If you would like to make a donation/ sponsor then the JustGiving link is still active on the page x
And to any friends or family reading this: the invite is still warmly there to join too ;))

NEW PRINTS!! 🌿💚

With sustainability being at the forefront of priorities to Prints for Pads and how we can continue to help responsibly, a percentage of donations from prints moving forward will now begin to go towards funding reusable pads as well as single use.

More expensive to initially obtain? Yes. But longer lasting for the individual and better for the environment? BIG yes.

It is hoped that this introduction of reusable pad donations will help to alleviate the strain felt by those who struggle to access places like foodbanks regularly, with their lifespan of up to 150 washes reducing the number of visits necessary per person.

If you’d be interested in a new print, please feel free to take a look on the page and make a donation through the JustGiving link letting me know which one you would like!

And they’re off! 4000 pads have now been donated at Coventry Foodbank today, to be distributed out to those who need them. Thank you again to everyone who has donated to Prints for Pads so far to make this possible💛

This picture shows exactly 4000 individual pads, which are now ready to be donated to Coventry Foodbank. For a very rough idea, the average person requires around 25 pads per period; and so with this many donated, these pads have the potential therefore to help approximately 160 in managing their next period effectively!
What this picture also shows is the great level of compassion and generosity from everyone in the last month who has interacted with and donated to this project, and for that I want to say a huge thank you!! Each and every contribution really does mean so much 💛
Stay tuned for what Prints for Pads has in store moving forward. The page will be staying open as I can’t wait to keep this up and really build on this effort to help x

Surviving period poverty with 'socks and tissue' - BBC News 15/03/2021

Slightly outdated, this video - nevertheless the same still applies to so many others across the UK today. No one should ever have to ‘survive’ their period, or be left helpless in trying to manage it with dignity.
