On Friday Reception had an exciting ‘Dig Day’ to launch ‘Into the garden’ topic. The children planted different plants in the outside classroom and dug over the flower beds. They planted a range of vegetables and wild flowers too! During the day the children also completed different planting activities such as creating a Fairy / Pixie garden and growing cress. What an exciting day and an inspiring start to their learning.

On Tuesday Reception celebrated being at school for 100 days. They came into school as a 100 year old or wearing a t-shirt representing 100. We were really impressed with the effort everyone made. We also counted out 100 candles onto a cake and enjoyed a slice of cake together!

Year One enjoyed their Outdoor Learning this week and loved having a hot chocolate to warm up at the end!

Last week Badger class were the first class to achieve their HERO award. Each time they earnt a letter they had extra playtime and as a class they decided to chose extra iPad time as their reward.

Today some children from each year group came and selected some new books for our school from the library bus. There were so many to choose from! But a new 100 books have arrived at Fairway! Thanks for helping children!

Some super art from Year 1. They have been continuing to explore weather in their art lessons. This week they used different mediums to draw the same weather. They then used water colours to see which medium was wax resident.

Reception loved playing with gloop on Friday. Gloop is a fabulous sensory and science activity to learn about the concepts of what a solid and liquid is. It is also very fun!

Year 1 have created some artwork to support their science learning of seasons. They used mixed media to create their seasons wheel. Using paint, collage techniques and pencils. They look stunning!
