Derrychrin Primary School is currently creating a register of Classroom Assistants to provide support within the school on an as-required basis.

We would welcome expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals who may be interested in joining our pool of classroom assistants.

Essential Qualifications
GCSE English, Grade C or above
GCSE Mathematics, Grade C or above
Previous experience working in a primary school setting
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
NVQ in Childcare, Childhood Studies or a related field
SEN training and/or experience
Effective communication skills
Ability to work on own initiative
Strong work ethic
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Thank You Miss Higgins!
As part of our summer celebrations, Primary 2 and 3 joined together to enjoy a Teddy Bears Picnic with Miss Higgins to show our appreciation for all the kindness that she showed to us since Christmas!We had a great day, introducing our bears, playing games, singing, dancing and of course feasting on some delicious treats!Miss Higgins, you have been so friendly and helpful. We have loved getting to know and work with you!Have a great summer!

What a year! The months has flown by and looking back at these photos it’s hard to believe how much P1 have fitted in and how much they have grown. They have been a delight to have in the classroom and a credit to their families. Hope the sun comes out and that everyone has a fantastic summer! 😎

Have a wonderful Summer break everyone!As we come to the end of another school year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a very positive and successful year for everyone at Derrychrin Primary School.
Our school continues to flourish as a vibrant, caring community, where our pupils create many special memories each day. We are extremely proud of all that has been achieved and sincerely appreciate the ongoing support from our local and wider school community.
On behalf of the Board of Governors and all our staff, I would like to thank you for your continued support, cooperation and partnership. Your encouragement plays a key role in the success and wellbeing of our pupils.
As we look ahead to the summer break, I wish all our families a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed and ready for another exciting year ahead.- Our new P1 pupils and P7 pupils start on Friday 28th August - All P1-P7 pupils return back to school on Tuesday 1st September

As the school year draws to a close, we say farewell to our wonderful P7 pupils. P2 at Cosmic Kids 💫
Primary 2 had a fun-filled trip to Cosmic Kids, along with all the children from P1 to P4. We really enjoyed the soft play, slides and ball games, followed by a yummy lunch! Great memories made 🎉
