Considering a career in construction? Meet former SWC student Julian Brock. Now with GRAHAM for 10 years, Julian credits South West College with providing the foundation for his successful career in civil engineering. He began his studies at the Enniskillen campus before progressing to a Foundation Degree in Civil Engineering at the Omagh campus.

During his studies, Julian also took part in a fully funded Institution of Civil Engineers trip to China, which he described as a “fantastic learning experience”. Today, he works across a range of major projects and says no two days are ever the same.

His advice to anyone considering a career in construction is simple:

“Take the leap. Attend South West College and try to get as much work experience as possible outside of class. The experience you gain is invaluable.”

From Level 3 qualifications, equivalent to three A Levels, through Higher Level Apprenticeships and degree-level study, SWC provides a clear local pathway into a rewarding career in construction and civil engineering.

The Governing Body, Management Team, staff and students at South West College are deeply saddened by the passing of our much-valued friend and colleague, Aiden McGrath.

The College extends its heartfelt condolences to Aiden’s family, friends and to all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him during his time at South West College.

May he rest in peace.

It's been an especially amazing summer for the students who took part in the annual Turing trip to Humber University in Canada. In between study, students have been exploring the vibrant city and enjoying a variety of exciting excursions including ⚾ cheering on the Blue Jays at a Baseball Game, 🌊 taking in the breathtaking views at Niagara Falls & 🌲 challenged themselves with Tree Top Trekking.

Sure to be an experience non of the students will forget!
