Marlfields Primary School Where children come first At our school, we live by the motto: "Where children come first." Warmest regards,

Mrs C Sleath
Headteacher

This is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that each child feels valued, nurtured, and inspired from the very first day. Starting or joining a school is a special milestone - one that marks the beginning of new friendships, learning adventures, and personal discoveries. Our children are part of something bigger: a community that will support and encourage them while also giving them the space to learn about themselves and shape into the wonderful person they are destined to be. We firmly believe that childhood is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it should be magical, wondrous, and filled with inspirational and unforgettable learning moments. That’s why we place great emphasis on celebrating each child’s individuality, getting to know them, understanding their unique talents, and nurturing their curiosity. You will see this through our extensive offer of clubs, visits and experiences which enhance our curriculum. Our dedicated and passionate staff support and watch the children grow, learn, and thrive. In everything we do, we ensure that our school rules—"Be Safe, Be Ready, Be Respectful"—are lived by all, creating an environment that is respectful, secure, and supportive.

October is International Walk to School Month, making it the perfect time to boost our daily steps and build healthy habits.

We are excited to take part in WOW, the walk to school challenge. Every child who walks, wheels, cycles, or parks & strides (parking 5 minutes further away and walking the rest) at least three times a week for the whole month can earn an exclusive monthly badge made from recycled materials.

Although we understand it is not always possible for everyone to get involved all the time, choosing to walk, scoot, cycle or park & stride helps you to:
- start the day energized and ready to learn
- reduce congestion around the school gates for a safer, cleaner environment
- look after our planet by choosing active travel
