Next up in our get to know our tutors we have Jennifer Scott.

Jennifer began dancing with the Michelle Johnston School of Highland Dance at 6 years old and began to compete not long after she started dancing.

The love of highland dance has enabled Jennifer to travel to Scotland, Canada and Disneyland Paris.

Jennifer competed in the Scot Dance Canada Championship series in 2015, as a solo competitor and also as part of a Choreography team. She was also a member of the Belfast Tattoo teams in 2014 and 2017 in the SSE arena performing to sold out crowds. In 2016 she had the opportunity to travel to Paris for the international gathering of Scottish highland dance, competing in a number of competitions, championships and choreography and was given the opportunity to dance in the parade down central plaza with the amazing backdrop of the Disneyland castle Paris.

Jennifer has experience as an assistant teacher for the Johnston School of dance over the last number of years. She has enjoyed this experience and also taught workshops for Small Steps, an Ulster Scots group based in North Belfast, in their series of summer schools and Easter sessions.

Last November, Jennifer passed her associate teachers’ exam with the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance and she has a wealth of dance and teaching experience and can't wait to share her love of dancing with our dancers.
