🌟 **Welcome back to PE!** 🌟

It was wonderful to get back into our fantastic PE sessions with Mrs Bamber after the summer holidays! 🏃‍♀️⚽️🤸‍♂️

The children were excited to be back, getting active, developing their skills and enjoying lots of fun challenges along the way. Mrs Bamber’s enthusiasm and energy made for a brilliant start to the new school year, and we’re already looking forward to all the exciting PE opportunities ahead! 💪😊

What a fantastic Sports Day we had last week! 🏅🌞

The children had so much fun taking part in all the different races and activities, showing great enthusiasm, determination, and team spirit throughout the day. We were incredibly proud of how well they behaved, encouraging one another, cheering on their friends, and celebrating everyone's achievements.

A huge well done to all of our wonderful children for making the day so enjoyable, and thank you to everyone who helped make Sports Day such a success.

🌞 Keeping Cool in the Shade! 🌳

Our preschool children have been making the most of the beautiful weather while staying safe in the shade. They've had lots of fun exploring the sandpit, building, digging, and letting their imaginations run wild! 🏖️🪣

When it's time to cool down, we've been enjoying our lovely indoor area, where it's nice and cool. The children have been busy with a range of fun activities, learning through play while staying comfortable during the warmer temperatures.

🌊☀️ We had an amazing day at Branscombe Beach on Friday! The weather was beautifully hot, but we made the most of the shade to stay cool and even enjoyed dipping our feet in the sea. 🏖️💙

We had so much fun taking part in a beach scavenger hunt, creating beautiful beach art, painting pebbles, and enjoying lots of other exciting activities throughout the day. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories made.

The highlight of the day had to be when all the children enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream – the perfect treat on such a warm, sunny day! 🍦😊

Yesterday, our Class 2 children visited Colyton Church to see the exhibition Icons on Ammo Boxes.

The exhibition features icons painted on ammunition boxes that were retrieved by soldiers, medics, and evacuation teams from some of the most dangerous combat zones in Ukraine.

Inspired by what they had seen, the children returned to school and created their own beautiful drawings and paintings. They were fascinated by the exhibition, asked thoughtful questions, and thoroughly enjoyed expressing their ideas through art.

We are so proud of the creativity, curiosity, and sensitivity the children showed throughout this memorable experience. Thank you to Colyton Church for welcoming us and sharing such a meaningful exhibition.

On Friday, the children in Class 1 enjoyed a fantastic History Morning, where we focused on our learning about Mary Anning. They discovered fascinating facts about the Jurassic Coast and explored how fossils are formed.

The children got creative by making their own clay fossils and producing zig-zag books to explain the fossil formation process. To finish our morning, we relaxed and enjoyed a David Attenborough documentary all about dinosaurs and fossils, bringing our learning to life. It was a wonderful morning full of curiosity, creativity, and discovery!

Class 1 have been busy learning all about instructions and revisiting the ones from our class text Outdoor Wonderland. Using Talk for Writing, the children retold each instruction with big, confident actions — and then turned those actions into pictures to help them remember every step. They’re building fantastic foundations for writing their own instructions next week.
