Blue Bell Rural learning CIC We offer meaningful, practical, work based experiences in an enjoyable rural setting for adults with learning disabilities.

We are set in 6 acres in the East of Lancashire bordering with West Yorkshire. Our location provides stunning views across to Pendle Hill in the west and Boulsworth to the south. Our activities focus on providing hands on supervised sessions around Blue Bell. Working with the animals and poultry creates a learning environment through animal and stable management while learning what animals eat and their individual needs. The improvement in communication skills while making new friends is linked together with learning and agricultural skills.

Blue Bell Days.....bring on the cool weather!!! Never thought I'd say that😆
We had a lovely visitor the other day pop up and ask what we do at Blue Bell...I do need to get us out there!!! So I thought...lets show him what we do! He was amazed how everyone was working together and independantly, doing real jobs around the farm. I explained we work very hard to keep everyone's mobility/health foremost, we have a walking group, we work in small groups so no-one is excluded and everyone has a voice. All the activities are transferable onto life skills like putting tools away, being responsible for your own job sheet, working with your friends/teammates,and listening to instructions,helping each other and caring...could go on😁 and above all this we're very sociable!!. This man noted how he felt we were like a big family laughing and joking together...its these moments when someone off the 'street'really sees what we're about, warms my heart!! He also clocked our large sand pit which i explained was going to be our outdoor safe arena to enable everyone whatever ability/mobility access to working in a safe confined area with the animals,and he said "you need to put yerself out there and get funding lass"!! ..(.i may add...I liked the lass bit😃) So I'm going to try, in between everything else to do this...but if anyone has read this..and not lost the will to live...and has any tips/tools to help, any advice would be really really appreciated!!!

Blue Bell Days.....sorry to be on repeat but this young man who volunteers at Blue Bell and works.. continues to strive to gain his confidence and build his strength physically and mentally....sometimes we have to look behind the light of someone to help them heal....This young adult keeps turning up...often getting it wrong but this is how we ALL get it right...so heres to getting it wrong...to enable US to get it right..
Where all a work in progress.......keep turning up everyone and let's help each other thru this amazing journey called life❤️❤️

Blue Bell Days...Weve been enjoying the beautiful spring weather!!! Lambs baby rabbits and all the other waifs and strays😀
Note to oneself much do better with putting posts up sooner!!!
