UTD announce a slight change to our choreographers due to Dan Hand being successful in an exciting new project that we wish him all the best in!

We are excited to welcome Sophie Martinelli to our workshop on Sunday 13th September!

She has a strong focus on acting through song and dance, and always advocates for truthful storytelling.

Sophie has recently graduated but has already begun working with professionals such as Shay Barclay, on exciting upcoming projects.

Sophie is disciplined and well versed in the expectations of the industry, but is also equipped with a beaming personality and a big smile on her face.

She focuses on the fun of her craft, after becoming a teacher for the past two years where she loves having an impact on young performers growth and love for the industry, she acknowledges the importance of joy in your work to ensure others enjoy being an audience to it 💜

2025 saw the UTD introduce a Student Teacher Programme - This is a helpful preparation for prospective teachers who wish to take the Associate examination in the future 💜

We are thrilled to announce that we recently had our first candidate take & successfully pass their Student Teacher Exam - Ella from S&D Dance

And we want to pass on our congratulations to Ella & her teachers!

Ella wished to pass some words of encouragement about her experience:

“Wow, I’m over the moon, thank you so much for sharing this amazing news with me! It was such a rewarding experience being a part of this programme. I loved to help the young children progress with their Tap skills & watch their confidence grow. I’m also very thankful for all the support I have received from my dance teachers throughout & in the exam. I’d definitely recommend the experience to any students thinking of taking part!” 💜
