Another transformation job completed.
In this job the customers had constructed new borders, in an area where trees and shrubs had been removed.
The soil was poor and sandy.
I added 2 cubic metres of soil improver and the laid down sheets of membrane.
Evergreen plants and shrubs were then planted such as Viburnum; Photinia; H**e; Pittosporum; Eleagnus; Abelia and Euonymus.
Finally a tonne of blue slate was carefully added to complete the job.
Plants and soil were bought from and delivered by Deans' Nursery. Excellent service as usual.

In this 2 day job I had to deal with a lawn that had become lifeless, as well as creating new borders.
I aerated and scarified the lawn, removing the dead thatch.
I cut out new borders.
Then I planted spring bulbs, before stage 2 today.
Today I added a soil improver/topsoil mix, a professional blend supplied by Deans' Nursery ; building up the borders and then adding a veneer of this soil to the grass.
I then sowed and raked in new grass seed.
Hopefully there will be a good result in a few weeks time.

I grew these lilies in my own garden. It takes a lot of dedication to get them to this standard.
I offer a wide range of plant and skills in my work. I can advise on what plants you already have in your garden and how to further improve it.
This is in contrast to the clearance jobs on this page, which highlight the "graft" side of my gardening business.

A challenging "recovery and clearance" job today.
But a good outcome, in very hot conditions.

If you neglect a garden for a year, it leaves a lot of hard work to be done, to put it right.
Pleased to have sorted this garden out today.

In today's job, I have redefined an herbaceous border.
The plants had become overcrowded, so a reset was required:
Dig out plants.
Separate rhizomes, for example sedum.
Remove brick edge, cut new edge, creating bigger curved border and reset bricks.
Add soil improver.
Replant, with a "less is more" theme.
Water....A lot!

7 years of gradually growing my business.
Today we've reached this milestone.
Thank you to everybody who has supported me along the way.

Day 2 of the front garden transformation project.
Having created a border on the first visit today I:
Dug out poor current soil and rocks.
Added a cubic metre of soil improver.
Planted 15 Photinia Pink Marble.
What a difference!
