Talking openly helps young people understand their feelings, build resilience, and know they’re not alone. Bernard is driving a growing wellbeing and physical activity offer for residents in Borough Homes’ sheltered schemes.
Through Place Partnerships in North , he brings people together, listens to what they need, and shapes activities that help older adults stay active, connected and confident.
This co‑designed, jointly funded programme uses a place‑based approach to reduce social isolation and boost wellbeing through physical activity.
From chair‑based dance and discounted swimming to wellbeing walks and social sessions, the offer helps residents connect, with volunteers helping keep it going long term.
