Today I completed my ACSM Autism Exercise Specialist Qualification 🙌🙌
Having 12 years experience as a personal trainer has given me a deep insight in helping a wide range of personality types and I find my work very rewarding! Working with a client on the Autism spectrum has given me a whole new meaning to the word rewarding.
Research has shown that exercise for those with ASD:
Decreases repetitive behaviours
Increases on task behaviour
Reduces maladaptive behaviours
Improves social skills
Improves communication
Improves academics

Covid safe boxing! Working with a client in Worcester Park today in the beautiful sunshine. Since the start of the pandemic, I get clients to sanitise their hands, wear cotton gloves, then get their hands wrapped, then put the boxing gloves on. Definitely stopping the spread of everything lol

Following up on my post a few weeks ago, I was continuing to have trouble finding the time for a ‘decent’ work out most days. With my daughter being unwell, work and going away for a few days it was just HARD!
So….
I wrote a plan, roughly 20 minute workouts 6 days out of 7. All HIIT based, varying between full body, upper body and lower body. I have just succeeded in working out 6 days in a row.
If anyone is interested in doing a similar personal training program, get in touch! I can deliver in person or virtually 💪

Until having my daughter I never truly appreciated how hard it is to find the time to exercise. Everything else just seems to take priority 🤷🏻♀️
Make the decision to look after yourself, 30 minutes is better than doing nothing not just for your physical well-being but mental as well.
