⭐⭐THANK YOU⭐⭐

A huge, massive thank you to all of our parents/carers & staff who have donated to St. Augustine's toy appeal. Your donations were very gratefully revieved at the toy shop tonight. There will be lots of smiles on Christmas morning because your generosity.

After delivering our donations the staff treated the children to a tasty snack and a trip to see the Christmas light where we made another donation to St. Andrews Hospice.

It really is the most wonderful time of the year ❤

UNDERSTANDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO PARENTS TO PAY FOR CHILDCARE
At present, there is no direct financial support to school age childcare services other than the fees paid by parents, and all too often parents cite the cost of childcare as being unaffordable so do not use it.

What many working parents don't realise is that they will probably be able to access some form of additional financial support from government to help pay for childcare costs; this could vary from 20% (via tax-free childcare system) up to 85% (via universal credit). So, for example, if an afterschool care session costs £12, parents could receive between £2.40 and £10.20 from government to help pay for the place.

Parents attending college or university may also be eligible for support to cover the costs of childcare.

The following document highlights the various financial support options to parents to pay for childcare.

As with previous years we are delighted to be supporting St. Augustine's Christmas appeal. This appeal helped hundreds of local families last year with food and gift packages. This year they are appealing for food, new toys & gifts for 0-18year olds and winter coats (New or used good condition winter coats).

If anyone is in a position to donate any of these items, no matter how great or small, we would be most grateful. Items can be given to any member of staff untill the 10th of December. This will allow us to take them to the shop in plenty of time for them to be given out to those in need.

St Augustine’s have always been a huge support to us, especially over the past 2 years so we are glad to be able to return some support as a way of thanks.
