Nursery Teachers Our Nursery Teachers deserve better!!!

1st off, out Facebook jail. For what I don't really no tbh.

2nd a massive well done to everyone who braved the weather on Thursday to show there support for the early years workers.

By continuing to support will show the council they need to sit up and see the bigger picture. Cutting jobs of highly experienced staff just can't go ahead.
Keep up the support everyone.

I had to share this from one of our followers!!
Everything explained in simple terms..

FOR ALL PARENTS WITH CHILDREN AGED 5 AND UNDER:-
North Lanarkshire Council has decided that the best way to save three million pounds in their budget is to remove their most experienced practitioners from Early Learning establishments. (E.g., council run Nurseries). The Early Learning Workers, GRADE 9 ,are the most MATURE TRAINED AND EXPERIENCED staff in these nurseries. They help educate and nurture your child before starting school.
The plan to delete these 300 jobs will leave the nurseries with possibly not so experienced staff. Children across Scotland deserve better. Education for our youngest children should be invested in to ensure that staff have the skills, knowledge and resources to continuously improve the quality of care and education for ALL children.
Please share this message and email your local MP with your support for these workers. The Scottish Government is all for supporting under 5's in Early Years but obviously NLC don't seem to have the same commitment

Feels very appropriate at the moment ❤️

10 REASONS TO APPRECIATE AN EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONERS ❤️

1. They are not Early Years Practitioner, they are teachers. Their lesson plan every day includes: how to share, how to use 'Kind hands” and “walking feet,” how to say please and thank you, how to walk behind someone without pushing, how to take turns, and how to have “listening ears.” They educate themselves with qualifications and degrees, they educate our youngest little people , they nurse the poorly , they comfort the grazed knee. They risk assess , they observe , they plan , they action , they record.

They are masters of food hygiene , allergies, manual handling , Health and safety , and are Paediatric First aid trained.

2. They are not just teachers. They are also cleaners and nurses. They make injures feel better and dry up tears. They spray, wipe, sanitize, sweep, mop, and take out the trash.

3. They are waitresses. They balance little trays and cups of milk. They pick up squashed peas off the floor. Scoop peaches when they ask for more. They feed , they teach children to self feed and to self serve.

4. They change 5 dirty nappies, within 10 minutes.

5. They get 12 little ducklings to follow in a row on their way to the playground. They headcount , oh how many times they headcount!

6. They tie tiny shoes. They help pull up tiny underwear and trousers. Fold tiny blankets. Wipe tiny noses , Multiply all of this by 12 or more on most days.

7. They are there before parents go to work and don’t go home until the last child is picked up , as the second hand ticks to closing time.

8. They lay out cots and sleep mats and blankets and dummies. They know who gets a dummy, who gets a 6 oz bottle, who has to have all the lights out, who will wake up early, who came in late and will lay awake.
They sit between cots and mats patting restless toddlers to sleep. They spend the rest of nap time keeping the one early riser from waking the 11 others , or quietly trying to update display boards. They carry out 10 min sleep checks to ensure your little one is safe.

9. They go home and take care of their own families and homes, or their own children. They somehow find time to rest their tired feet, oh how tired their feet are!

10. They are patient and kind. They are trustworthy. They do their best with no promise of rest.

Their heart swells to see your child grow and learn and smile and play.
They laugh at the funny things children often say.
So say thank you to your Early Years Practitioner.
They are so much more than a carer for your child ❤️

Well done to everyone who turned up last night to the Unison meeting.

Everyone can show there support by sharing things off this page or any other media places. Try not to ask staff about what's going on as it's still there place of work.
It could play into the hands of the council if they find out names of staff speaking about it.
It's very sensitive to everyone.

It's nothing short of disgusting at North Lanarkshire Council's proposals.
Talks are still ongoing with unions I believe so fingers crossed the Nursery Teachers have the outcome they deserve.

From speaking to staff from various places they can't believe the amount of support from everyone.
Please continue to support our early years nursery staff.

Reading on North Lanarkshire Council's page that on the 8th of May all school and nursery's are to close.
Everyone's has a different opinion on the reason behind this but if everyone can remember back a week or so the Council said the rent and council tax will rise in April and that they have also set aside £50000 for the coronation.
£50000 could be better invested.
£50000 could save people's jobs.

Words can't even cut it when workers from any employment are TOLD not asked that there hard earned money is being cut.
Teachers had a say in what they were entitled too so hopefully the voices of the early years teachers will be allowed to publicly say what the sneaky North Lanarkshire Council are really up to.
It's heart breaking hearing story's from some about how much this is going to effect there life's if this goes ahead.

Welcome to standing for our Nursery Teachers. Early Learning is most crucial for our Children. Some have been born into covid, had the last 3 years of isolation. Our children need their nursery teachers especially ones with many years of experience, our children need help with interaction, communication and help to build on their social skills. Please like share and post your views on our nursery teachers having to take a 30% cut in their salaries. This is not on its our children that are going to suffer. Let's make a difference...
