We are absolutely delighted to announce that Friends of Clyro School has been selected for the Tesco Fruit & Veg Grants in-store vote! 🎉💙

Our project, Clyro Church in Wales Primary School Breakfast Club, could receive a grant of up to £1,500 to help children at our school start their day with a healthy breakfast and creative activities, giving pupils a calm, positive start and helping them feel ready to learn. 🥣🍌🎨📚

👕Rags2Riches Clothing Collection – We Need Your Help! 👟👜

Our Rags2Riches clothing collection is taking place on Thursday 2nd July, and we'd love your support!

If you have any good quality unwanted clothing, shoes, handbags, belts, bedding or other textiles, please consider donating them. Every bag helps us raise valuable funds for our school while making a real difference to the environment by keeping reusable items out of landfill.

Even better, donated clothing is currently being sent to Ukraine to support families in need during this difficult time.

💚 Please have your donations ready for collection placed outside the front of Clyro Church in Wales Primary School before 9am on Thursday 2nd July.

We're looking for new faces to help support our amazing school community, and we'd love to see you at our Annual General Meeting.

💙 Hear about everything we've achieved over the past year.
💙 Find out how fundraising has benefited our children.

Committee Roles

🪑 Chair
Lead committee meetings.
Help coordinate fundraising events.
Work with the school on fundraising priorities.
Support volunteers and the committee.

Manage the Friends' finances.
Count and bank fundraising money.
Pay expenses and keep financial records.

The Friends of Clyro School Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday the 2nd September at 7:30pm at The Three Tuns Public House in Hay on Wye.

We come together to discuss the previous school year's events and fundraising, alongside voting in committee members for the school year ahead.

✨What roles are on the PTA committee?

Chair – provides leadership for the committee
Treasurer – manages the funds the PTA raises
Secretary – ensures effective communication between committee members and the PTA

We are currently run by Co-chairs, a Treasurer and a Co-secretaries.

We are then supported by our team of FOCS members who attend PTA meetings and get involved with the planning and running of events.

✨Should I still come to the AGM even if I don't want to take on a role?

We welcome any 'Friends' to come along to our AGM as well as our PTA meetings.

It's a great opportunity to have your say on the committee. Alongside taking the opportunity to extend your school network.

With a number of the PTA expected to 'step down' over the next few years, it's also a great time to join as a FOGB member and 'learn the ropes' so that Friends of Clyro School can continue for years to come.

🌿 Grounds Day – Thank You! 🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our Grounds Day at Clyro Church in Wales Primary School on Tuesday, what a fantastic team effort it was!

From the moment we got started, there was a real buzz around the school grounds. The children especially loved getting involved, helping with the veggie gardening, carefully planting, and even taking part in the much-anticipated release of frogs into the pond 🐸.

One of the clear favourites of the day (for children and adults!) was wood-chipping the pathways, there’s something very satisfying about shovelling and raking! Alongside that, we had brilliant help with weeding and planting beautiful wildflowers, donated by Martin from On the Verge, that will brighten up the space in the weeks to come.

A special thank you to all the grown-ups who rolled up their sleeves and tackled some big jobs. Thanks to you, sheds have been sorted and organised, and the greenhouse is now fully planted up with tomatoes and cucumbers, we can’t wait to see everything grow. 🍅🥒

Your time, energy, and enthusiasm have made a huge difference to our outdoor spaces, and ultimately to the children who enjoy them every day. We’re so grateful for such a supportive community. 💚
