As a full time working mother it was important that my children were stimulated and entertained and not just TV junkies. So I began to think of ways to entertain them in the evenings and holidays without spending too much money. I also wanted to help them with learning things like colours, vocabuary and other things in their interests. Some of my ideas have come from years of working with young c
hildren as well from some creatively inspiratiional people whom I have had the pleasure of knowing. I often trawl markets and craft shops as well as craft magazines and online resources too for ideas and inspiration. I believe that allowing children be creative helps stretching their thinking skills and this helps them learn and so achieve. As many friends liked hearing about what my girls and I were doing and some asked me to share my ideas 'kognishin' was formed.
