With the rise of AI, is it time to empower our girls to embrace careers in the trades?

- 1.5 million homes needed by 2030.
- 317,000 more construction workers needed to hit the target.
- 76% of construction firms can't find enough workers.
- Up to 8 million UK jobs at risk from AI.
- Women are twice as likely as men to be in high-risk Al jobs.
- Construction and trades: hardest for Al to replace.

For girls who are practical problem solvers, a career in the trades could be a great direction.

Exciting news - BuildHers has its first property renovation to work on!

We’re turning two houses into a beautiful 10 bed HMO. We bought this at auction for £195k and it needs a lot of work, but we’re up for the challenge! 😅

We’re going to document the process and hopefully teach you all some tips and tricks along the way!

P.s new level of respect for content creators - this was more difficult than the renovation!!

John is such a supporter of all things practical, and completely understands the need for women in the trades to be visible.

Will encourage other women to consider learning a trade as an option

That’s why we’re running some Trades Taster Courses this summer, to give people the chance to discover if learning a trade is for them

We’re also working with BuilderHers Uk in Clevedon to provide training opportunities and support for women changing career, or entering a trade after school
