Some of our year 13 students enjoyed a visit to the University of Essex earlier this week. The whole day visit was centred around careers in sport and they got to tour the impressive sports facilities, try out some of the equipment and meet staff who were happy to tell them about their job roles and pathways into these.
They enjoyed their lunch by the lake and finished the day with an instructor lead game of volleyball! The students were well behaved and engaged throughout the visit and were a credit to MFC.
We would be grateful if you could share this to any local businesses to encourage them to come to our event around inclusive employment 🤩

Check out our student Laird at the Ambition Cafe! The cafe is situated in the library on the same site as the college.
Four students attended Zealandia last Thursday for their third baking session in a professional kitchen.
This week focussed on all kinds of doughnuts, they made american, tradional, jam, finger and custard doughnuts as well as cake ring doughnuts, the kind you get at the pier.
When they finished making them, they got to decorate them with an assortment of fillings and toppings.
They also got to do a balloon experiment mixing together yeast, sugar and warm water. The carbon dioxide released from the mixture then filled up the balloons!
The students had a great day and are looking forward to their last baking session at Zeelandia coming very soon. 🍩🧁
Students from class 5 have been working hard to develop our garden area at college. Thank you very much too Heartwood Tree Company who donated 1.5 tonnes of woodchip to the college to help us renovate the area 🌳🍃
